In this review, I analyze its predecessor and determine which is better between the Titleist TSi2 vs TS2 drivers.

The Tsi2 vs TS2 drivers are older version clubs from Titleist built to deliver optimal speed, launch, and distance for high handicappers.
The TS2 was the first to hit shelves in 2018 and was followed 3 years later by the Tsi2 driver.
These adjustable drivers offer advanced forgiveness, straighter ball flight, and consistent length off the tee. In addition, they carry a low and deep center of gravity (CG) to generate a high-flying shot.

Titleist packed the 460cc TSi2 driver with an explosive ATI 425 Aerospace Titanium clubface, SureFit hosel, and Multi-Dimensional stability.
In addition, it contains low and deep CG to produce an elevated tee shot.
TITLEIST TS2 KEY FEATURES
The predecessor to the TSi2 carries a SureFit adjustable hosel and a Variable Face Thickness, which reduces spin and accelerates speed.
However, I felt the older driver delivered less forgiveness on off-center hits than the TSi2.
SIMILARITIES AND DIFFERENCES
The TSi2 and TS2 drivers sport a 460 cc clubhead to offer a maximum surface area for the average golfer to strike.
In addition, both big sticks carry a SureFit hosel and offer a variety of stock shafts and loft options.
While these golf clubs mainly offer similar lofts, there are some marginal differences. The TS2 has more options spanning from an 8.5-degree low loft to an 11.5-degree weak loft.

WHO IS EACH DRIVER FOR?
The performance of the Titleist TSi2 and TS2 reveals that their launch, forgiveness, distance, and speed are best suited to mid and high-handicap golfers.
Moreover, considering their age, they offer golfers on a tight budget exceptional value for money.
PERFORMANCE DISTANCE & FEEL COMPARISON
After testing both drivers, I found that one was superior to the other in almost all departments.
The TSi2 produced marginally higher clubhead and ball speed before obliterating its opponent in length.
The TSi2 flew an average of 223 yards before rolling an additional 27 yards for an average total distance of 250 yards.
However, these results were in stark contrast to the older TS2 driver, which carried 211 yards and rolled 32 yards to finish with an aggregate of 243 yards.
ACCURACY & CONSISTENCY COMPARISON
My launch, forgiveness, and distance consistency were far superior with the TSi2 driver.
However, when I assessed my accuracy, I noticed that I was more consistent with the Titleist TS2, which produced a better dispersion chart, even on heel and toe mishits.
PRICE COMPARISON
The TS2 driver is considered a dinosaur as far as golf equipment goes, and also incredibly challenging to find brand new.
However, you can come across pre-owned models which fetch between $100 to $200.
Conversely, the younger TSi2 design is relatively pricey, fetching $499, only $100 off the newer TSR2.

Overall the Titleist TSi2 vs TS2 drivers are ideal for moderate to slow swing speed high handicappers.
They offer forgiveness, spin low and accelerate ball speed to launch consistently. While the older TS2 proved more accurate on the shot dispersion chart, the TSi2 was superior overall.
Although the TSi2 is more affordable than the new and improved TSR2, it doesn’t compare to the affordability of the TS2.
However, the older TS2 model is difficult to find brand new, and you are better off settling for the 2021 TSi2.
The Titleist TSi2 delivered greater distance, a raised apex, and faster clubhead and ball speed.

In this post, I analyze the TSi1 vs TSi2 drivers to see if the older models are still worth a look. By the end of the post, you will know each driver’s specs and performance features and who they suit.

Finally, I reveal whether these drivers deserve a spot in your bag or whether to test the new TSR1 and TSR2 drivers.
An Overview OF Both Drivers
The TSi1 and TSi2 drivers were released in 2021, preceding the new TSR range.
Although these drivers suit mid and high-handicappers, they excel for different preferences. For example, the TSi1 works best for medium swing speed after a light setup, faster clubhead speed, and improved distance.
Conversely, the TSi2 is a better option for moderate and slow swing speeds working towards optimal clubhead speed and distance.
Despite its length, the TSi2 still delivers decent forgiveness by preventing speed drop-off and restricting spin across the clubface.

Like the TSi1, the TSi2 driver contains an Aerospace Titanium clubface to promote lightning pace.
Plus, it generates consistent contact across the face for optimal speed and lower spin on all strikes.
A Multi-Dimensional MOI ensured maximum stability at impact to control spin and limit speed drop-off. The result is a tighter dispersion record that delivers superior accuracy and distance control.
SIMILARITIES AND DIFFERENCES
The Titleist TSi1 and TSi2 drivers carry a durable, rapid ATI 425 Aerospace Titanium face, low and deep CG, and an adjustable hosel.
The most significant difference I notice is the lofts, with the TSi1 offering a lower 8-degree design and the TSi2 offering an 11-degree setup.
In addition, they both contain an adjustable hosel, enabling you to alter the lie angle and face loft.
While I noticed some minor differences in head shape, most of the discrepancies were seen in performance, which I touch on below.

WHO IS EACH DRIVER FOR?
The Titleist TSi1 driver is built for players with moderate swing speeds seeking a lighter setup.
The TSi1 offers an accelerated pace on the downswing and encourages superior energy transfer from the clubface to the
PERFORMANCE DISTANCE & FEEL COMPARISON
Both drivers felt pleasant at impact, but I could feel the lightweight design of the TSi1 and the acceleration that followed.
The difference between these golf clubs was evident in spin rate, apex, carry distance, and roll.
The TSi1 got one over the TSi2 in club head speed, surpassing it by 1 mph, repeating the cycle with ball speed.
Next, the TSi1 generated over 600 rpm more spin than the TSi2 and launched almost 2 degrees higher.
In addition, the TSi1 achieved an additional 30 feet over the TSi2 in the air and carried 18 yards further.
However, the TSi2 proved more effective on the ground and rolled for over 40 yards after landing. Whereas the TSi1 only managed 24 yards.
ACCURACY & CONSISTENCY COMPARISON
I found it easier to control the lighter constriction of the TSi1, and my shot dispersion chart proved it.
I hit far more shots straight than with the TSi2. However, higher swing speeds may enjoy increased control with the heavier TSR2.
PRICE COMPARISON
The Titleist TSi1 and TSi2 drivers are priced at $450, which is a premium, considering they are older models.
However, it is still approximately $150 less than the new TSR1 or TSR2 drivers.

Plus, it’s equipped with adjustable spin weighting and Player-Tuned acoustics.
SIMILARITIES AND DIFFERENCES
The Titleist Tsi4 and TSR4 drivers are compact designs built to lower spin and produce piercing flight for maximum distance.
They’re also fitted with a SureFit adjustable hosel to alter the loft and lie of the clubface.
The main difference between them is the exact dimensions of the club head. While both are compact drivers, the Tsi4 has a 425 cc clubhead, 5 cc’s smaller than the TSR4.

WHO IS EACH DRIVER FOR?
Given the low spin and compact clubhead profile, both drivers are better suited to a high-swing speed low handicapper.
They offer less forgiveness than 460 cc drivers and require an enhanced coefficient of restitution and smash factor to launch the golf ball consistently.
PERFORMANCE DISTANCE & FEEL COMPARISON
The differences between the drivers were minimal, except in club head speed, carry, and total distance.
The Tsi4 produced 8 mph more than the TSR4, which may be due to the reduced clubhead size and exceptional aerodynamics.
However, the TSR4 produced 9 yards extra carry distance and 6 yards additional total yardage over the TSR4.
Besides these features, both clubs generated roughly the same spin rate, launch angle, and apex.
ACCURACY & CONSISTENCY COMPARISON
Despite delivering a slower clubhead speed, I found the more sizeable TSR4 clubhead produced superior consistency and accuracy than the Tsi4.
My off-center strikes with the TSR4 were still undesirable, but they remained more on target than the wayward flight of Tsi4
PRICE COMPARISON
Despite turning 2 in 2023, the Tsi4 driver is not exactly cheap, but it’s over $100 lower than its successor, the TSR4.
The Tsi4 fetches $499, while the newer edition sets you back $599.

During testing, the Tsi4 delivered increased clubhead speed than its successor. However, the TSR4 generated superior ball speed, carry distance, and total yardage, to trump its successor overall.
While superior golfers will appreciate the distance, playability, and consistency, slow swing speeds high handicappers may struggle to play them.
