The TSi range is the predecessor to the newly released TSR series.

In this post, I analyze the TSi1 vs TSi2 drivers to see if the older models are still worth a look. By the end of the post, you will know each driver’s specs and performance features and who they suit.

In addition, I will cover the clubhead sizes, stock shafts, and alternative driver options to consider.

Finally, I reveal whether these drivers deserve a spot in your bag or whether to test the new TSR1 and TSR2 drivers.

An Overview OF Both Drivers

The TSi1 and TSi2 drivers were released in 2021, preceding the new TSR range.

Although these drivers suit mid and high-handicappers, they excel for different preferences. For example, the TSi1 works best for medium swing speed after a light setup, faster clubhead speed, and improved distance.

Conversely, the TSi2 is a better option for moderate and slow swing speeds working towards optimal clubhead speed and distance.

Despite its length, the TSi2 still delivers decent forgiveness by preventing speed drop-off and restricting spin across the clubface.

The Titleist TSi1 is an Ultra-lightweight 460cc driver construction built to help the average golfer accelerate clubhead speed on the downswing. 

An ATI 425 Aerospace Titanium clubface produces rapid speed across the clubface, while a low CG promotes a high launch.

The TSi1 offers a phenomenally high MOI design that delivers incredible stability at impact to preserve speed and restrict revolutions per minute.

TITLEIST TSI2 KEY FEATURES

Like the TSi1, the TSi2 driver contains an Aerospace Titanium clubface to promote lightning pace.

Plus, it generates consistent contact across the face for optimal speed and lower spin on all strikes.

A Multi-Dimensional MOI ensured maximum stability at impact to control spin and limit speed drop-off. The result is a tighter dispersion record that delivers superior accuracy and distance control. 

SIMILARITIES AND DIFFERENCES

The Titleist TSi1 and TSi2 drivers carry a durable, rapid ATI 425 Aerospace Titanium face, low and deep CG, and an adjustable hosel.

The most significant difference I notice is the lofts, with the TSi1 offering a lower 8-degree design and the TSi2 offering an 11-degree setup.

In addition, they both contain an adjustable hosel, enabling you to alter the lie angle and face loft.

While I noticed some minor differences in head shape, most of the discrepancies were seen in performance, which I  touch on below.

WHO IS EACH DRIVER FOR?

The Titleist TSi1 driver is built for players with moderate swing speeds seeking a lighter setup.

The TSi1 offers an accelerated pace on the downswing and encourages superior energy transfer from the clubface to the

PERFORMANCE DISTANCE & FEEL COMPARISON

Both drivers felt pleasant at impact, but I could feel the lightweight design of the TSi1 and the acceleration that followed.

The difference between these golf clubs was evident in spin rate, apex, carry distance, and roll.

The TSi1 got one over the TSi2 in club head speed, surpassing it by 1 mph, repeating the cycle with ball speed.

Next, the TSi1 generated over 600 rpm more spin than the TSi2 and launched almost 2 degrees higher. 

In addition, the TSi1 achieved an additional 30 feet over the TSi2 in the air and carried 18 yards further.

However, the TSi2 proved more effective on the ground and rolled for over 40 yards after landing. Whereas the TSi1 only managed 24 yards.

ACCURACY & CONSISTENCY COMPARISON

I found it easier to control the lighter constriction of the TSi1, and my shot dispersion chart proved it.

I hit far more shots straight than with the TSi2. However, higher swing speeds may enjoy increased control with the heavier TSR2.

PRICE COMPARISON

The Titleist TSi1 and TSi2 drivers are priced at $450, which is a premium, considering they are older models.

However, it is still approximately $150 less than the new TSR1 or TSR2 drivers.

Our Titleist TSi1 vs TSi2 driver review showed that the features and technology behind these drivers are similar, but their performance is not.

The TSi1 delivered faster clubhead speed, moderate spin, and increased carry and total distance.
