Luke List: Career Golf
List found his passion for golf at a very young age.
His amateur career was quite something which led him to turn professional in 2007.
During his amateur days, List was ranked as one of the top amateur golfers in the United States – which is quite an impressive statement to hold the title.
In 2004, Luke was the runner-up for the U.S. Amateur, and in 2005 he participated in the 2005 Master, where he positioned T33.
During that same year, he won the Jones Cup Invitational.
After finishing his studies at Vanderbilt University, List turned professional.
Although it wasn’t the best start to his career, he eventually qualified for the PGA Tour in 2013 and has done better ever since. This includes ranking in the top 50 and having two significant wins.
List participated in the Web.com Tour, where he placed 119th, still keeping his winning status from the 2012 tournament.
He then improved massively and finished 64th in 2015, securing himself a place at the Web.com Tour Finals. He positioned 22nd there, earning a place for the 2015-16 season on the PGA Tour.
List was a fraction away from winning the Honda Classic in 2018 but lost in a sudden-death playoff to opponent Justin Thomas.
But still, one of his best performances on the PGA Tour. That same year he finished T4 at the Safeway Open, a brilliant way to start the 2018-19 season.
Fast forward to January 2022, Luke started with a bang by winning the Farmers Insurance Open.
However, it wasn’t that easy – he tied to Will Zalatoris, and the two played it off, with List winning the tournament with a birdie making it his first PGA Tour win.
