Tangkula Golf Stand Bag Review Vs Alternatives

The problem with a lot of golf bags that have ample storage space is that they become bulky. This is problematic whether you are using a cart bag or a stand bag. For a cart bag, bulkiness could mean poor balance and the ever-present threat of having your clubs spill out all over the place.

For a stand bag, excess bulk could be a nightmare as you struggle to find a comfortable angle to carry it. But having all your gear and accessories is very important as you traverse the course. Luckily there are some manufacturers who have solved the storage/bulk conundrum.

And today we are going to be taking a look at a bag from one such manufacturer. But the Tangkula Golf Stand Bag has a lot more to offer than a streamlined design with ample storage space so let’s dig into the details.

Quick Feature Rundown

  • The Tangkula Golf Stand Bag weighs only 3.5 pounds

  • 35.5” tall and 6” x 8” wide

  • When the legs are engaged it’s 30.5” tall and the leg stance is 22.5”

  • 4-way top divider

  • Total of 4 zippered pockets

First Impressions

Our first impression of the Tangkula Golf Stand Bag was that it was skinny. We were a bit concerned that we weren’t going to be able to fit all of our clubs and accessories in it.

It’s super slim when it isn’t loaded up but we were pleasantly surprised when we saw that it holds it’s figure pretty well with all our gear in it.

But what really struck us about the Tangkula Golf Stand Bag when we first unboxed it was the weight. This is an incredibly lightweight stand bag at just 3.5 pounds.

Design Quality

One of the things we can’t stand about golf bags is when the stitching is weak. This usually translates to bag straps that are hanging on by a thread or rips in the storage pouches. But the Tangkula Golf Stand Bag features very strong stitching.

It’s made of a polyester fabric that feels very strong – though we only tested the Tangkula Golf Stand Bag for a couple of rounds of golf, we got the distinct impression that this is a bag that will last for many seasons.

Going back to the topic of straps, the Tangkula Golf Stand Bag features a dual shoulder strap. The strap is fully adjustable and provides good balance when you are carrying the bag.

The base is made of a stiff plastic and the edge is tilted so when the legs are engaged, it sits easily at an angle.

Leg Design

A common fatal flaw of stand bags are the legs. They can be too heavy or too weak. But the Tangkula Golf Stand Bag strikes a very good balance between sturdiness and weight. The legs are made of aluminum so they don’t weigh the bag down.

And aluminum is naturally strong so you get sturdy hold when using the legs of this bag. They have a good stance too. They stand 22.5” apart when they are engaged which adds to the overall stability.

The Tangkula Golf Stand Bag legs also have rubber feet. The tips of the legs prevent slipping and provide a firm stance.

Storage And Pockets

You get pretty much everything you need on the course when you use the Tangkula Golf Stand Bag. As we mentioned in the brief feature rundown, the Tangkula Golf Stand Bag has 4 zippered pockets. One is a large apparel pocket on the side. There is also an accessories pouch in the front.

There is even an insulated cooler pouch for drinks and snacks. But maybe more than the ample storage, we like the fact that the zippers of this bag are beefy. They don’t feel like they will break or become misaligned any time soon.

Top Divider

There is a 4-way divider top on the Tangkula Golf Stand Bag. And the good news is that they are full-length dividers.

The dividers do a good job of keeping your clubs separate when you’re carrying the bag. The not-so-good news is that carrying multiple woods or hybrids can be a challenge with this bag.

But overall we think it’s a quality divider. The tops of the dividers are made of a reinforced nylon so no matter how often you pull out/slide in your clubs, it won’t fray.

Final Assessment

The Tangkula Golf Stand Bag is ideal for anyone that wants an exceptionally lightweight golf bag with plenty of storage. Even when fully-loaded, this bag won’t be a burden to carry. It keeps it’s slim shape very well.

We also like the fact that it is stitched very well. We can tell that this bag can take a lot of abuse. Our only real hangup is the crowded divider top. But this is only a problem if you carry multiple woods or hybrids. And even if you do, this flaw can be overcome simply by using head covers.

Overall this is a great bag – especially for the price. So we recommend taking a look at it if you’re in the market for a good stand bag.
