Sun Mountain Golf CLUBGLIDER Meridian Travel Cover Bag Review
If you are a golfer who travels a lot, the most pressing issue is not so much which courses you pick or how you score on them, but rather how you pack your clubs and getting them safely to the destination. Having the wrong bag can cause the biggest headache; it can ruin your clubs and make for an uncomfortable experience at the airport. With a lot of good and bad experience of travelling with my clubs, I gave the Sun Mountain Golf CLUBGLIDER Meridian Travel Cover Bag a shot. It has turned my experience of traveling with a golf bag from a disaster to a routine part of travelling for golf.

Convenience Features
The first thing I liked about it was the ease of carrying into and out of the airport. It has four wheels, which is something you don’t see every day. Better yet, one set of wheels is retractable and makes it even easier to transport.
Also, this thing is very durable. Like I previously mentioned, my last bag ruined my golf clubs. They clanked around and caused damage to the shafts. The cover on this bag is very strong and protects your clubs extremely well. You don’t have to worry about baggage carriers taking this thing throwing it around and damaging your shafts or quality of your clubs. It’s very well protected.
It’s a good-sized bag, measuring 52 inches long by 14 inches tall (12 inches wide). That being said, it’s also lightweight for a travel bag, 13.5 lbs. This is the kind of bag you want when lugging it around or even more important, trusting other people to carry it around and place it on an airplane or other type of transporting vehicle.
Like mentioned, it is durable, and the straps it comes with are one of the reasons. It contains both internal and external straps to keep the clubs secure, along with two external pockets.
Winning Design
I also really like the design of it. It comes in different colors, but I like the black and blue layout which I think has an attractive look, including a foam outside which provides extra padding for protection. This gives your clubs the comfort it needs to withstand any sort of violent treatment it will get. The bottom of the bag is also well protected. It is padded strong with vinyl that will prevent wear and tear from taking place. Overall, just looking at it gives you the feeling it can go through a war. It is well-protected.
The Meridian has a series of handles, which obviously is important for carrying. The pull handle makes it easy to wheel around. It also has a very big handle in the middle if you need to pick it up.
Price
There are some drawbacks, however, the biggest one coming with the price. It’s not cheap at all. You do get what you pay for. It runs anywhere from $275-$300, and usually on the higher end of that scale. Some of the other models, such as the Tour series, climbs over $300.
Size
It’s also quite big. While that is what some people want, others want to travel as light and small as possible and this thing isn’t exactly small, like previously mentioned. This size can also create a difficult issue for getting it into a car, depending on the car’s size.
Conclusion
Overall, The Meridian eases your comfort of checking a travel golf bag at the airport. It also makes it easy to carry around and travel with. You don’t need to worry about wear and tear like most travel bags. This thing can take any sort of beating.
So while, yes, the price may be a bit high, if you want your clubs to get from point A to point B with no problem and in pristine condition, The Meridian is the perfect choice for you.
