Ping G410 Vs. Titleist TS2 Driver Comparison & Review

Both the Ping G410 and the Titleist TS2 driver were designed to deliver a high degree of ball speed and forgiveness – but which one outperforms the other?

Being able to swing away at the ball with all your might is a dream for most players. That’s because what you pick up in club head speed, you usually lose in accuracy.

This is a struggle that beginners and intermediate players are familiar with.

Still, this is the dream that both Ping and Titleist are selling to consumers. With the Titleist TS2 and the Ping G410, these manufacturers promise better ball speed with more forgiveness.

Let’s take a look at the details of both of these drivers.

Ping G410 Key Features

The Ping G410 features a thin, hot face. The thin T9S face also helps keep the overall weight of this driver down.

The thin face, as you can imagine, is meant to yield a high degree of flex. This flex increases ball speed.

The thin face is kept in check by a creased crown that is stiffened and the Internal Dragonfly bracing system.

As if all that weren’t enough, Ping saw fit to include a sliding rear weight that can be moved from left to right.

You get three positions: draw, neutral and fade. This allows you to shape your shot and correct for left or right orientation.

Titleist TS2 Key Features

With a thinner crown than the previous D2 model, the Titleist TS2 seeks to increase ball and swing speed for beginner and intermediate players.

The Titleist TS2 features a titanium crown that is 20% thinner than the previous model. This will help beginner and intermediate players increase their club head speed and ball speed.

The CG is placed low and back for better forgiveness and ball flight while variable face thickness provides more forgiveness on mis-hits.

The G410 Family

The standard Ping G410 driver is accompanied by the slightly more advanced G410 LST.

The main difference between the Ping G410 and the Ping G410 LST is that the LST was designed to produce less spin off the tee.

Forgiveness is sacrificed in favor of a lower-arcing trajectory with less spin. This will also equal more distance for most players.

The TS Family

The Titleist TS2 is joined by the TS1, TS3 and TS4 drivers.

The Titleist TS2 is the driver in the TS family that will help you hit straighter shots.

It’s the most forgiving while the TS4 delivers low spin off the tee and the TS3 was designed for overall distance with an adjustable CG.

The Ping G410 Vs. The Ping G425

The Pong G410 and the Ping G425 have a lot in common but it’s the seemingly minute details that differentiate the two drivers.

Like the Ping G410, the Ping G425 driver features an adjustable weight (26 grams) that can be set in 3 positions, the internal dragonfly bracing and a T9S forged face.

However, the G425 features an 8-1-1 titanium crown that makes it even lighter and more dynamic than the G410.

The Titleist TS2 Vs. The Callaway Big Bertha

Both of these drivers would be a god-send for anyone seeking effortless distance.

The Big Bertha features a low-forward center of gravity orientation to help correct slices.

The Flash Face also makes it forgiving – as does the giant head.

Both the Big Bertha and the Titleist TS2 produce straight shots with little workability.

Who Is Each Driver For?

Both the Titleist TS2 and the ping G410 drivers were made for players who need more forgiveness across the face and easier ball speed.

If you are a beginner or intermediate player; the Titleist TS2 and Ping G410 driver are almost interchangeable.

However, the adjustable CG positioning of the G410 will make it more congenial for players who need to shape their shots in a specific way or fix a slice.

Final Assessment

The Ping G410 simply has more to offer the mid to high handicap player.

The versatility of the G410 is really what puts it over the top. The adjustable weighting will be a welcome feature for mid to high handicap players.

The Titleist TS2 and the G410 gave almost equal distance so it was a wash in that department.

However, the added shot shapeability and the better overall feel from the forged face of the Ping G410 make it the better driver so check it out for yourself soon!
