Ping G410 Vs Cobra Speedzone Irons Review & Specs 2023
If your irons have been the bane of your golf game then you may want to pay special attention to the following review.
Today we are going to be taking a look at a couple of game improvement iron sets that both promise to bring the distance you want and provide the forgiveness your game may need.
If in fact, you are in search of irons because you are struggling on the fairway, a set of game improvements might be the first port of call, btut if you are looking to improve, distance irons like these sets are going to be perfect.
That’s what makes it feel so incredible when you pull them out of the bag and belt it onto the green from a distance.
And here are a couple of iron sets that just might help you reach that level of accomplishment on the course and performance under every heading.
Overview Of Both Sets
At first glance, you wouldn’t think the Ping G410 irons are game improvement irons.
The shorter blade and less pronounced offset can actually look intimidating if you’re a mid to high handicapper. Still, the G series has been known for it’s forgiveness and the G410’s are no exception.
The Cobra Speedzone irons became available in the States in January of 2020 and ever since then they have been giving iron sets like the G410’s a run for their money. They are built to launch the ball hot while still providing deep CG congenial to beginners’ swings.
Cobra Speedzone Irons Key Features
The top lines of the Cobra Speedzone irons are made from carbon fiber which, helps keep overall weight down.
This allows for what Cobra calls their “Speedback Shape” which, is essentially a banded metal weight that stretches from the heel to the toe and wraps around the sole.
Ping G410 Irons Key Features
The Ping G410 irons have free-hinging faces. This means that they yield a higher degree of flex which, in most cases, will result in faster ball speeds.
The face is stabilized by a co-molded badge made of aluminum and elastomer that is placed in the rear cavity.
Who Is Each Set for?
Both of these iron sets are marketed toward high to mid handicappers. If you are having more trouble with distance than accuracy, you might like the G410’s more. If you prioritize forgiving feel, the Speedzone irons might be more your…speed.
The Ping G Series
The G series has always been known to be forgiving. The predecessors to the G410’s were certainly no exception.
Their top rail undercut cavity actually even launched the ball higher than the G410’s – although both iron sets feature the key face-hinging architecture.
Comparing Cobras
The Speedzone irons also come in One Length versions which, you guessed it, makes every iron in the set the same length: 37.50”.
There are also the Radspeed irons which, feature radial weighting design to keep spin at an all-time low.

Composition Comparison
These two iron sets actually have similar compositions. They both feature an aluminum hybrid rear badge to improve feel and perimeter weighting.
The Speedzone has the carbon fiber top line though and the G410’s feature a cascading sole design.
Performance Comparison
The G410’s were launching higher and farther than the Speedzone’s overall. This was partly due to the significantly stronger lofts of the G410’s.
The Hydropearl finish also gave the G410’s a softer feel. The Speedzone’s were definitely more forgiving on off-center shots, though.
Price Comparison
The Speedzone irons retail for about $800 for the set while you can find the G410’s on sale fro between $780 and $900.
