PGM Golf is a brand that hasn’t exactly penetrated the market as much as other upstart golf club OEMs like Founders Club and PXG.
But that could very well change in the next few years. PGM may soon become a prominent brand because of their huge array of products and the quality of their higher end golf clubs.
PGM Golf makes a ton of golf gear including apparel, balls, shoes and golf club bags. But how do their golf clubs stack up against major brands like Callaway and Titleist? Are their golf clubs even worth it? In the following article, we will be shedding some light on this brand and reviewing some of their more popular golf clubs.
Where Are PGM Golf Clubs Made?
PGM Golf is a Chinese company. In fact, they are the top-selling golf gear brand in China. Naturally, their products, including their golf clubs, are manufactured in China. The company boasts a 50,000 square meter production and research facility in the region of Guangdong, China.
It would seem that PGM Golf designs and makes all of their own golf clubs – they don’t outsource production. As far as we can tell, PGM Golf clubs are not clones of any other golf clubs.
Brief History of PGM Golf
PGM Golf has been a mainstay in China and the Asian markets for a long time. But they only started doing business State side in 2006. The company is a subsidiary of Foshan Shunde Yibang Golf Products Co., Ltd and they make a huge variety of golf gear and golf-related products. And while they have a variety of bargain golf clubs, they also make professional grade clubs.

#1 – PGM G300 Complete Golf Club Set Review
The PGM G300 Complete Golf Club Set includes a 460cc titanium face driver, #3 wood, #5 wood, #4 hybrid, irons 5-9, pitching wedge, sand wedge and a blade-style putter. This set has every club you need for a full round on par 5 courses.
The driver feels nice and clean on impact and delivers really clear feedback as well. The irons are cast from stainless steel so they don’t have the softest feel; but they have deep cavity backs so they are very forgiving. The irons actually have fairly strong lofts for a game improvement set so if you are a naturally low-launch player, you might have some difficulty getting the height you need out of these irons. Other than that though, this is a solid beginner’s golf club set at an unbeatable price.

The PGM G300 Complete Golf Club Set includes a really nice stand bag for under $400. This makes it a great deal for any beginner or high handicapper looking for a bargain.

#2 – PGM Rio Women’s Complete Set Review
The PGM Rio Women’s Complete Set is comprised of a 460cc forged titanium driver, #3 fairway wood, #4 hybrid, #5 hybrid, irons 6-9, pitching wedge, sand wedge and a mallet style putter.
I was really surprised at the quality of the driver and irons of this set. The forged titanium face of the driver delivers a soft feel, hot speed and clear feedback. The CNC milled faces of the irons also allows for very clear feedback and a good deal of workability/spin control. I was able to stop the ball on the green from 150+ yards out with the long irons.
The white and pink color scheme of the clubs and the premium bag are a nice touch. I also liked the fact that there are two hybrids to replace the longer irons.
Who is it for?
The PGM Rio Women’s Complete Set is an unbeatable bargain for lady golfers who want a complete set that can hold up to clubs made from major manufacturers.

#3 – PGM NSR 3 Junior Golf Club Set Review
One of the things I liked the most about this set for kids was that the woods and irons come equipped with graphite shafts. This eliminates a lot of the harsh vibration that deter kids from taking full swings. It also allows for faster club head speeds and distance.
Overall, I think this is a good set for building a child golfer’s confidence. It consists of a driver, a hybrid iron, irons 7-9, sand wedge and a mallet style putter. I have my doubts about the durability of these clubs; but I didn’t spend enough time with them to be able to confirm that they were in fact, not durable.
The irons have a cavity back design and oversized head shape so they should be easy to hit with from the tee or the turf. The loft on all the clubs is very high which again, should instill confidence in junior players.
What Age is it for?
The club shafts should work for kids between 3’9” and 4’5”. That should cover kids 5 to about 11 years old.

#4 – PGM Children’s Golf Club Set Review
Ok so this is really more of a novelty set but I included it because I know that there are parents out there who really want to get their kids interested in golf at an early age. The PGM Children’s Golf Club Set includes a mini putter, mini driver and a mini 9-iron. All of the club heads are plastic so really, these are more like toys.
But I can see a very young child getting a hang of swing basics with these clubs. It’s really a set that’s helpful when you want to let your child be involved in your practice sessions. The most important thing for really young kids is having lightweight clubs and the PGM Children’s Golf Club Set is definitely lightweight.
What Age is it for?
The PGM Children’s Golf Club Set is good for kids between the ages of two and five. The clubs are comfortable, lightweight and the set is very affordable.

#5 – PGM Wedge Review
The PGM Wedge is set at 72° and is available in either a black or chrome finish. It also has a CNC milled face which allows for really good spin control no matter what lie you find yourself in. The sole is nice and wide which helps with turf interaction in less-than-perfect lies.
The PGM Wedge sports a traditional stepped steel shaft so you get good club head and distance control. I really liked the launch I was getting with this club. It was high enough to land the ball dead on the green from 30+ yards out. On perfect lies, it can be used from even further out. It’s a great wedge for flop shots and to help you get out of the sand.
The only gripe I had about this club was that the stock grip wasn’t very tacky. I felt like I had less control over the butt of the club as a result. But that is a really easy fix if you just swap out the grip with one of your liking.
Who is it for?
The PGM Wedge is a great addition to your bag if you’re missing a solid sand wedge. It was more versatile than I thought it would be so it would also be great if you want to be prepared for any kind of lie.

#6 – PGM Chipper Review
The PGM Chipper is available as a 35 or 43 degree club. I tested the 35° since I don’t need that much help around the green. Still, it’s nice to know that the extra help is available for players who need it.
The club head felt a bit heavy; but that allows for more control on chip shots. It took me a few swings to get used to the weight but it was no problem once I did. The CG is nice and low and I was able to hit controlled, high-arcing shots from the cabbage, sand and the fairway.
Who is it for?
The PGM Chipper is for 25+ handicappers who want to get on the green quicker and easier.

Final Thoughts
So can PGM clubs hang with clubs from more popular manufacturers?
Absolutely, especially their GI clubs. PGM clubs are definitely worth a look if you don’t want to spend a ton of money but still want quality clubs.
