Ogio 2020 Convoy SE Stand Bag Review

Some of the best stand bags in 2021 aren’t coming from the likes of Callaway, TaylorMade or some of the other golf giants.

Case in point: the Ogio 2020 Convoy SE Stand Bag. If you are looking for a bag that has room for everything you need on the course, then pay close attention to our review.

While not the cheapest bag on the market, this is an ideal mid-range bag because it has features that are normally reserved for more expensive bags and deceptively light to boot. But it strikes a very nice, delicate balance between being cumbersome and providing ample storage.

As you can already see, we have a lot to say about the Ogio 2020 Convoy SE Stand Bag so let’s get this review started.

The Key Feature Rundown

If you want to know the key features of the Ogio 2020 Convoy SE Stand Bag right away, here is a brief overview of what makes this bag a standout in 2021:

  • It’s lightweight at just 5.8 pounds

  • 36 x 13 x 10 inch dimensions

  • Total of 7 zippered pockets

  • 14-way divider top

  • Durable stand legs

Our First Impression

When we got our first looks at the Ogio 2020 Convoy SE Stand Bag we thought we were going to hate testing it. It just looks big. We thought we were going to have a heck of a time lugging this thing along the course.

But then we started loading it up and realized just how light this bag really is. At just 5.8 pounds, this is one of the most accommodating bags in terms of storage that still manages to be under 6 pounds.

Design Details

One of the most important features for any stand bag are the legs. How sturdy are they and how well do they fold up? The Ogio 2020 Convoy SE Stand Bag has 2 aluminum legs which help keep the weight of the bag down while still providing a strong stance.

When engaged, the rubber feet of the legs provide plenty of grip even on shifty turf. So we really like the strength and stability of the legs. And they fold flat against the bag and it’s easy to secure them which is a bonus.

The Ogio 2020 Convoy SE Stand Bag is also made of Ripstop nylon so it is very durable. Even if you are generally careless with how you load and unload your bag, this Ogio model should last a very long time.

The weight, as we mentioned, is minimal. At just 5.8 pounds, this bag won’t overburden you. And while nylon isn’t inherently the most waterproof material, the Ogio 2020 Convoy SE Stand Bag does come standard with a rain hood and umbrella holder slot.

Pockets and Organization

The Ogio 2020 Convoy SE Stand Bag comes with 7 zippered pockets. We liked the fact that the insulated cooler pouch is spacious.

We were able to fit two 27 ounce canteens and a canned beverage in it. There’s a large apparel pocket that runs the length of the side too.

There’s also a valuables pocket that is lined with a very soft material so it’s safe to throw your phone, GPS device or anything that has a glass screen in it.

The 14-way top divider is made of reinforced nylon. No matter how fast or recklessly you pull your clubs out of this bag, don’t expect the divider to fray any time soon.

Overall it provides a snug fit for all your clubs. There is even a designated putter well that can accommodate larger grips.

Some Final Words

What we liked the most about the Ogio 2020 Convoy SE Stand Bag was that it had plenty of storage space but it wasn’t heavy in the slightest. The oversized cooler pouch was also a cool little bonus. We also really liked the aluminum legs.

We didn’t have to adjust the legs or the bag very much once the stand was engaged because of the rubber feet. Our only major gripes were with the placement and design of the lower front pouch which juts out a bit and renders the mesh pouch all but unusable when it’s full.

But that can be negated by not stuffing that front pouch. All in all this is a high-quality, durable mid-range golf bag so check it out!
