TaylorMade Golf Select Cart Bag Review
Fumbling with a clumsy, unwieldy or poorly-designed golf bag while on the course is not only embarrassing; it can really take the focus off your game. It may seem periphery but having a solid golf bag is actually essential to your performance as a golfer.
Anyone who has used a shoddy golf bag can attest to this fact. The last thing you want is the bag to draw your attention and cause you to lose concentration. Having the right bag – one that has enough room for all your clubs, daily carries and course essentials and holds them all reliably in place – will allow you to concentrate on your swings and can even help improve game pace.
So if you are looking for a better bag that will let you concentrate on what really matters on the course, take a look at our review of the TaylorMade Select Cart Bag.
The TaylorMade Select Cart Bag comes in a variety of colors that include black/blue, a black and charcoal combination, a red-white-and dark navy combination, a gray and black combination, a black and red combination and a pink and black combination.
Right off the bat, the TaylorMade Select Cart Bag has ample space for all your clubs with its 14, deep slots. There are also 2 very large pockets for personal items and accessories. With this bag, you can easily carry your launch monitor, GPS device, binoculars and rangefinders.
The TaylorMade Select Cart Bag has 7 pockets. There are 2 main oversized pockets on either side of the bag. These 2 main side-pockets also have small pockets on top of them for items like keys, wallets and phones.
The bottom-front of the bag has a medium size pocket that juts forward which houses 2 smaller pockets for loose items. The upper-front pouch is handy for carrying balls and tees. There is pretty much room for everything in the TaylorMade Select Cart Bag.
Nothing is worse than lugging around an awkwardly-shaped, uncomfortable bag that hurts your shoulders. But the TaylorMade Select Cart Bag has a padded shoulder strap that makes carrying it a breeze. It still manages to be slimmer than most bags as well, despite the ample storage space.
We were also surprised at how light the TaylorMade Select Cart Bag was. Completely empty, it only weighs about 7 pounds.
Things We Love
We tested this bag on a weekly basis for about a month and a half and we really got the sense that it was durable. Even though it doesn’t weigh much, it is reinforced with hardier materials in all the places that matter (club slots, shoulder strap, zippers etc.).
The TaylorMade Select Cart Bag is not only made of mostly waterproof material, but they include a rain hood as well and you can trust in Taylor Made as a quality brand.
Room for Improvement
Really, the only way that we could see TaylorMade improving on the design of this bag is by adding a loop for cart straps. It’s a luxury feature, but maybe they could also add an insulated compartment for drinks and snacks.
TaylorMade Select Cart Bag Vs. TaylorMade Supreme
The TaylorMade Supreme Cart bag features UV protected material so the color won’t fade over time. You also get one more club slot (15 total). There is also a polymer patch that protects your putter heads from rubbing and scratching although it costs an extra $30. Get the best price here:
TaylorMade Select Cart Bag Vs. Founders Club Premium
The Founders Club Premium has some of the extra features that we would like to see in the TaylorMade Select Cart Bag such as an insulated pouch for drinks/snacks and a cart strap loop. There are also more pockets on this bag (9) and they are lined with velour and you can get for the roughly the same price as the Taylor Select Bag here at Amazon:

The TaylorMade Select Cart Bag performed where it matters most. It neatly organized and kept our clubs separate and the slots were even deep enough for some of our longer putters and drivers. While it could use some premium features, it is still a great golf bag for the price.
It will take one more thing off your list of things to think about on the course and that’s what is most important. It is a great bag that will last you for a long time so we recommend checking it out when you need a bag upgrade.
