Patriot Golf Club Reviews – Are They Any Good?

Patriot Golf is a company that produces golf clubs, golf balls, golf apparel and accessories.

The company is known for employing veterans and assembling all of their clubs here in the United States.

And while they are a little-known company in 2023, you still may be able to benefit from their clubs. As I have seen firsthand after years of testing golf gear, it’s a myth that you always have to go with the big names (Callaway, Taylormade, Ping etc.) to get the best golf clubs.

A handful of small upstart golf club manufacturers have pleasantly surprised me over the years. Is Patriot Golf one of those companies? Read on to find out.

Where Are Patriot Golf Clubs Made?

Patriot Golf clubs are all assembled in the United States. However, this does not necessarily mean that they are manufactured in the United States. Many companies base their manufacturing operations in foreign countries and have the parts assembled in the United States.Patriot Golf may be one such company.

In either case, the company does not divulge exactly where their clubs are made, only that they are assembled in the US.

Patriot F35 Driver, Wood, Hybrid Review

The Patriot F35 driver comes in either right or left-handed. You can choose from 10.5° or 9.5° loft versions. It comes stock with a graphite shaft in regular, senior, ladies, stiff and extra stiff flex. I tested the Patriot F35 with 10.5 degrees loft in stiff flex.

The Patriot F35 driver felt light on my backswing and fast on my downswing. The face also felt reactive. I could feel the ball spring off the face at impact. The distance was pretty much average. I managed a max distance of 261.7 yards with this driver but for the most part it was in the high 250’s.

But I really liked the fact that the face felt and played the same on face-center and off-center strikes. So while the distance was average, it was at least consistent.

The Patriot F35 fairway wood (3-wood, 5-wood and 7-wood available) has mostly chrome, metallic finish. It doesn’t look like most modern fairways so it’s likely to attract some attention for better or worse.

More importantly though, it’s forgiving. You can feel most of the weight positioned in the back of the head which means two things: more power behind your swings and the ability to use more of the face. The spin rates were a little high for me and I’ve definitely played woods that felt nicer through the turf. But the Patriot F35 fairway wood is forgiving and easy to get the hang of as a high handicapper.

You can choose between a #3, #4 or #5 Patriot F35 hybrid and surprisingly, also between a steel and graphite shaft. I opted to test the graphite shaft. There’s good mis-hit protection near the heel and toe of this club and the overall weight is low so it manages the turf and semi-rough very well. The launch is mid and I found it hard to get anything else out of it. And while that worked pretty well for my swing, it may be an issue for slower swing speed players.

Who Are They for?

The Patriot F35 collection of woods and hybrids would be a good choice for anyone looking for easy-to-hit clubs. Throughout my testing one thing was consistent: all the clubs were very easy to get the hang of. In general, I would say high handicappers would get along best with these clubs. But mid handicappers looking for easy woods could also benefit from them.

Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • They seem durable
  • Easy to use
  • Forgiving
  • Consistent across the face
  • Lightweight graphite shafts

Cons:

  • Average distance

Overall Score: 95/100

Patriot B2 Driver, Wood, Hybrid Review

The Patriot B2 driver comes in 9.5°, 12° and 10.5° loft versions. You can choose right or left–handed and the graphite shaft comes in ladies, senior, regular, stiff and extra stiff flex. Once again I opted for the 10.5 degree version in stiff flex.

The Patriot B2 driver features a variable thickness face and a reinforced chassis that allows more weight to be moved low and in the back of the head. Overall, I found the Patriot B2 driver to be more forgiving than the F35 driver. The face profile is deeper so you get more protection against thin strikes.

I pretty much couldn’t miss with this driver. I found face-center quickly and stayed locked into it through the testing session. My only gripe was that it sounds a little thin and there is only a slight volume change when you hit the sweet spot compared to when you mis-hit. The Patriot B2 driver also launches pretty high so keep that in mind.

The Patriot B2 Fairway wood has the same tech as the driver. You can choose from a 3-wood, 5-wood, 7-wood or 9-wood. All of the woods have an oversized profile and like the Patriot B2 Driver, are very forgiving. They have almost a hybrid-like profile in that the face is sort of squat. So forgiveness from heel to toe is excellent.

The hybrids include #3, #4, #5 and #6. Again, you can choose from a steel or graphite shaft. The Patriot B2 hybrids produce very good distance; but I found them to be a bit heavier than the F35 hybrids. This caused some digging off the deck when I wasn’t being careful.

Who Are They for?

The Patriot B2 series of woods and hybrids is more for beginners. I found them to be more forgiving than the F35 series and there are more club options for players who want to replace more of their long irons or even woods.

Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • Very forgiving
  • Many club options
  • Good for beginners
  • Hybrid generates good distance
  • Low CG

Cons:

  • A bit pricey

Overall Score: 96/100

Patriot B2 Irons Review

Patriot B2 Irons Review

The complete set of Patriot B2 irons includes irons 4-PW.

You can choose either a steel or graphite shaft in ladies, senior, regular, stiff or extra stiff flex. The whole set costs around $700 so it’s a pretty good deal especially when you compare them to iron sets from brands like Callaway and Ping.

The Patriot B2 irons aren’t massive but they’re not tiny either. They sport a medium width sole and deep cavity backs. The undercut is also pretty deep so these irons launch fairly high.

I think I liked the Patriot B2 irons more than any other Patriot clubs I tested. That’s because there is enough space on the face to be forgiving, and I was able to work the ball left and right.

The Patriot B2 irons are stable on mis-hits and don’t punish you with significantly reduced ball speed or spin. Heel-side mis-hits were the shots that diverged the most but even those stayed within 12 yards of the line.

The 7-iron in this set produced 156.6 yards which is pretty much what my gamer yields. So again, the distance isn’t phenomenal but it should certainly be enough for mid to high handicappers which are the groups these clubs are intended for anyway.

Who Are They for?

I really liked the workability in these irons so I would say that they are ideal for mid handicappers; but still forgiving enough for high handicappers.

Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • Good workability
  • High MOI
  • Stable on mis-hits
  • Easy launch
  • Graphite and steel shafts available

Cons:

  • Average distance

Overall Score: 97/100

Patriot Golf Balls Review

There are four lines of Patriot golf balls: the MOAB balls, the Trailblazer Stinger balls, the Trailblazer Skybolt balls and the Bolt Trailblazer balls.

For this test, I focused on the MOAB (Mother of All Balls) balls.

The Patriot MOAB balls feature a cast cover and an aerodynamic dimple pattern. I found the compression to be midrange – not too hard but not too soft. Off the driver face, I could definitely feel some resistance and feedback which is a good thing – I don’t like when the ball buries itself in the face.

I got great distance with the MOAB ball off the tee with my driver, fairways and even hybrids. With my long irons, I felt that these balls spun a little too much and I couldn’t work the spin down. Of course, this was more of a benefit in my scoring irons and wedges. I got acute feel from the MOAB balls with my short irons and wedges.

Who Are They for?

The MOAB balls would be good for any player seeking to improve their performance from driver to putter.

Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • Mid compression
  • Good short irons spin control
  • Good putter feedback
  • Limited long game spin

Cons:

  • Pricey

Overall Score: 96/100

Is Patriot Golf A Good Brand? – FInal Thoughts

Patriot Golf is a good brand…if you’re a beginner, high handicapper or mid handicapper.

Throughout my testing, I didn’t feel like any of the clubs were suitable for low handicappers. But I don’t think that’s what Patriot Golf was going for. They make clubs for new and intermediate players and through that purview, Patriot Golf is a solid brand.
