However, he was a student at The Baylor School, in Chattanooga, TA. It was here, while he was only a teenager, that he proved his talent as a golf player.

That’s clear based on four TA team state titles that he can boast of in the years 2004 – 2007.

Harris English: Career

Harris did spend time on the amateur tours, during which he won the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Invitational in July 2011.

Take note that at that time, this event had only been won three times by amateurs, so he probably impressed many professional players.

No wonder then that he was able to turn professional in September 2011 already, while he was still in his early 20s!

He did amaze fans early on in his professional career, although it took 2 years before he could boast a win. Here are some highlights of his career:

  • 2011: Harris made his professional debut playing the Soboba Golf Classic.
  • 2011: During his second pro event at the WNB Golf Classic he came second. He almost won, but in a playoff scenario Danny Lee won eventually. This event did boost his income though, as he became #75 on the money list for the Nationwide Tour.
  • 2012: He secured his PGA Tour card thanks to his performance in the PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament. And he’s been on the tour ever since!
  • 2013: Won the FedEx St Jude Classic.
  • 2013: Walked away the winner of the OHL Classic (held at Mayakoba).
  • 2013: Wins the Franklin Templeton Shootout
  • 2015: Impressed with his play at the Farmers Insurance Open but lost in a 4-man sudden death playoff.
  • 2016: Again wins the Franklin Templeton Shootout.
  • 2020: Won the QBE Shootout.
  • 2021: Winner of the Sentry Tournament of Champions (Hawaii). Here again the results were based on a playoff, this time against Joaquin Niemann.
  • 2021: Won Travelers Championship—once again in a playoff—by beating Karmer Hickok.
  • 2021: As part of the Ryder Cup team he helped win it for the US. However, he lost his singles match played against Westwood.

That gives Harry English an impressive total of four PGA Tour wins and a few other remarkable moments in his 10+ years of professional golfing.

One can see there were some years with no major victories for this sportsman and it’s a testimony to his perseverance that he kept his focus and once again came out on top in 2021!
