Cobra have become a more prominent name in the golf club industry over the past number of year due in part to the clever acqusition of ambassadors but also the fact that their clubs have been getting much better also.

While we have not been too taken aback by the quality of the irons up to now, their drivers, hybrids and metal woods have become excellent.

They are players distance irons who pack a solid punch and are not so unforgiving that a high handicapper couldn’t use them either.

They come in a standard progressive length set and also in the one lenght set made infamous by the scientist himself.

Cobra put a lot of effort into the weighting in this club and they are not afraid to take chances when upgrading their clubs.

Cobra turned to the fans to see what they wanted more of in their irons for 2023 and the reply they got was unsurprisingly, more speed and more feel, so they set out to work on delivering.

The clubs have made significant improvements over the Radspeeds in our view, they have added in some features that really take these clubs to the next level.

You can expect the Cobra Radspeeds to be longer and have a lower launch than the Radspeeds but they are also quite a bit more forgiving.

Cobra Radspeed First Impressions

First impressions of these players distance irons is the chunky heads, built for speed and the colorful pattern on the club head which is quite attractive.

Cobra Radspeed Key Technology

The Cobra Radspeed focus on a number of key areas for their club performance

Perimeter Weighting: A 3 gram tungsten weight in the heel and another visible 10g screw weight in the toe work to lower the COG and stretch the sweet spot more along the face.

The Pwr-Shell Face: High strength, forged, steel face insert is used to provide a decent amount of flex to the clubs but it also maximizes the ball speeds on impact.

3D printed Medallion: the cavity filling medallion at the bck of the clubs is 3d printed for unrivalled precision in each club. It adds stabilty overall and improves the sound anf feel of the clubs to boot.

Carbon Topline: Carbon topline that attempt to add speed but also works to make the topline fo the club more chunky at address.

Cobra Connect: Arccos smart sensors included with every club set to take your game tracking to the next level.

The Pwr-Cor Steel bar stands out immediately and the bigger clubface is more appealing to high handicappers on these excellent game improvement irons.

Cobra LTDx Key Technology

The Cobra LTDx have made quite a few improvements over their predecessors, none more notable than the PWR-Cor

Pwr-Cor Steel Bar: the Pwr-Cor is a steel bar that runs through the face of the club up to the hosel, it is coated in Polymer to improve the sound and feel of the club as well as increasing the MOI of the irons to the highest level from Cobra. The Polymer coating also adds 5% more flex to the club for forgiveness and distance.

The Pwr-Shell Face: The Pwr-Shell face remains in the LTDx irons from the Radspeeds but it now has a 23% larger thin, sweet spot making the clubs more forgiving and producing better shots on off center hits and it also wraps into the sole for shots hit low on the face.

Perimeter Weighting: Tungsten weighting in the heel and the visible screw weight in the toe, stretch the sweet spot and provide more forgivness from the club face.

Lattice Style Medallion: A lattice style medalion fills the cavity above the PWR-Cor and adds to the feel, sound and stability of the clubs.

CNC Milled Grooves: The deep grooves of the Cobra LTDx’s give the clubs excellent stopping power around the greens, especially as you move more towards the shorter irons.

Who Should Buy The Cobra Radspeed Irons

The Cobra Radspeed irons are going to be great for mid handicappers, they are high performing, extremely long and they launch at nice angles despite the strong lofts.

The Radspeed will be great for anybody that is really into their golf tech as they come with Arccos Smart sensors attached to every club.

The Radspeed maybe less suitable for high handicappers but if you are a mid handicapper that doesn’t fancy forking out for Forged irons, just yet, the Radspeed are worth considering.

Who Should Buy The Cobra LTDx Irons

The Cobra are a big improvement in the irons department from Cobra this year, they are longer, feel better and are more forgiving than the irons that came before them.

The LTDx’s are perfect for high handicappers up to mid handicappers. They provide nice and long shots with stronger lofts ensuring a lower flight path.

They are also nice and working around the greens with CNC Groove milling which we be nice to hear for those mid handicappers looking for a bit more control.
