The Callaway Strata golf club set comes with a driver and two fairway woods. You also get two hybrids which is even better for golfing neophytes. The irons consist of a #6, #7, #8, #9, a Pitching Wedge and a Sand Wedge. Last but not least, you also get a mallet style putter in the Strata set.

With the Wilson Profile XD set, you get a driver, one #5 fairway wood, a #5 hybrid, irons #6, #7, #8, #9, a Pitching Wedge and a Sand Wedge. Rounding out the Wilson Profile XD golf set is a mallet style putter.

If you opt for the Wilson Profile SGI set you will get an amply sized driver and a single #5 fairway wood. This set also comes with just one #5 hybrid and features irons 6-9 plus a pitching and sand wedge. The putter features an easy to use alignment grip.

The driver of the Callaway Strata set is composed of a graphite shaft and oversized titanium head. The woods are also made with titanium heads for extra distance.

The irons come in either stainless steel or graphite shafts but all of them feature stainless steel heads.

With the Wilson Profile SGI club set, you get your choice of either graphite or steel shafts throughout the entire set. The driver head delivers 460CC of titanium while the irons and wedges have stainless steel, perimeter weighted heads.

Now, depending on the shaft material you choose, you can get the Wilson Profile SGI set in Uniflex or regular flex.

Performance Comparison

By far, the best performing driver of the three set was the Callaway Strata driver. It’s set to a generous 12 degrees of loft and the titanium head offers a large sweet spot so even beginners can start to feel confident off the tee with this set.

As far as irons go though, the Wilson Profile SGI irons performed very well. They are made of 431 grade stainless steel and feature perimeter weighting which makes them a dream on the fairway. They feel perfectly balanced on your back swing and help with proper swing mechanics.

In terms of putting, we couldn’t really determine a performance difference between these 3 sets. All of them feature a mallet style putter (the Callaway Strata with a progressive mallet shape and the Wilson sets with heel to toe weighting).

That being said, we do think the alignment grip of the Wilson Profile SGI set would be very beneficial for beginner/intermediate players looking to refine their short game.

Price Comparison

You can score the Callaway Strata complete golf set (bag included) for about $315. The Wilson Profile SGi set (bag included) will run you a bit more at around $350 while the Wilson Profile XD set (bag included) typically costs $300.
