Tour Edge Lady Edge Golf Club Set Review

Are you just getting into golf and itching to buy your first complete set? You should know that there is a lot of research involved if you want a set of ladies golf clubs that A) won’t break the bank and B) that are suited specifically to beginners.

There are a lot of retailers and companies that will try to tell you that you need tungsten weighting and Speed Bridge design and this and that. But they are likely just trying to unload their most expensive set on you.

The truth is that as a beginner, you won’t need a lot of bells and whistles. That doesn’t mean you should go with the cheapest set you can find either though. See? It’s already quite a bit to take in and consider.

But that’s why we have put together today’s review. Today we are going to be looking at a ladies beginner golf club set that offers a nice blend of performance and value.

Key Features of the Tour Edge Lady Edge Set

Tour Edge isn’t exactly a mainstay of the golf club manufacturer industry…yet. But they are quickly making a name for themselves and the Tour Edge Lady Edge golf club set is one of their most popular ladies golf club sets.

While not the longest beginner clubs you will find, the Tour Edge Lady Edge stand out because they make it easy to get really good launch angle from the tee and the fairway. And this will build a good foundation for the rest of your game.

Overall this is a complete set complete with everything a beginner will need to learn and enjoy the game (including a stylish cart bag).

What You Get In The Set

Aside from the cart bag with ample storage for all your things, here is what the Tour Edge Lady Edge set includes:

Driver

You get a 460cc driver that is set to 15 degrees of loft and 59 lie rating and  43.5” length.

Woods

You get a number 3 and number 5 fairway wood in the Tour Edge Lady Edge set. The 3 wood is set to 18 degrees while the 5 wood is set to 22.

Hybrids

There are 2 hybrids in the Tour Edge Lady Edge set: a 6 and 7 hybrid. The 6 is set to 31 degrees while the 7 is set to 35.

Irons

You get 8-9 in the Tour Edge Lady Edge set. The 8 iron is 40 degrees and the 9 iron is 45 degrees.

Wedges

The Tour Edge Lady Edge comes complete with a pitching and sand wedge. The PW is set to 50 degrees and the SW is set to 55.

Putter

Finally you get a nice mallet style putter in the Tour Edge Lady Edge set that provides 4 degrees of loft, a 71 degree lie and 33” length.

Club Composition

All of the clubs in the Tour Edge Lady Edge feature stainless steel shafts. The driver head also features titanium integration for better longevity and durability.

We like the fact that the fairway woods feature low profile head designs which should help with increasing your swing speed.

The irons are also a bit oversized which helps with forgiveness. The sweet spot is as big as it can be on these irons and the wide undercut cavity adds to the overall forgiveness of the irons. The putter features a high Moment of Inertia face.

Set Options

You can get the Tour Edge Lady Edge clubs in an 8-piece set or an 11-piece set. The set that we tested and covered here in our review is the 11-piece version.

But for those interested in the less expensive 8-piece set, it includes a driver, an 8 iron, a 6 hybrid, pitching wedge, sand wedge, putter and 3 wood.

The 8-piece set also features a stand bag as opposed to the cart bag that the 11-piece version includes.

Club Length

These are a great size for any lady golfer between the heights of about 5’3” and 5’9”.

Final Assessment

If you are considering any of the sets in our honorable mentions section and you are a beginner, we think the Wilson SGI set would be best.

It features graphite shafts which affords the type of flex that is most comfortable to people just starting out with the game.

And if you are a more advanced player the Cobra XL set would be more your speed. But back to the matter at hand.

We like that the Tour Edge Lady Edge includes 2 hybrids which will help ease new players into their mid-range games. We wish they were longer hybrids but it’s very nice that there are 2 included in the set.

Overall we got good distance from these clubs. But more importantly, they were plenty forgiving. This is a great set of clubs that will inspire confidence and help to impart proper swing mechanics in new players. They get our seal of approval so check them out today!
