Titleist T300 Irons Vs PXG 0211 Review & Specs 2023

With the T300’s and 0211’s, we see two forgiving irons sets from manufacturers that are better-known for their premium clubs.

While both of these irons promise more forgiveness, we found that one is actually not as forgiving as the other.

Still, it’s important to know the finer details before you haul off and buy one of these iron sets. Which set will be better for you? Find out in the following article.

Titleist T300 Vs PXG 0211 Overview

It’s always interesting when we see renowned golf club manufacturers put their efforts into more accessible irons.

However, with the PXG 0211’s you wouldn’t really know how forgiving they are just by looking at them. They have shorter blades than the Titleist T300 irons and look more like a player’s performance set.

Right at point of address, you can tell that the Titleist T300’s are more for beginners and high handicappers from the more pronounced offset and larger blades.

Titleist T300 Key Features

There are two key features that drive the performance characteristics of these irons.

The first is a polymer insert right behind the respective sweet spots of these irons. This insert helps push ball speeds when you pure them.

The second feature (what makes these irons more forgiving) is variable face thickness that thins out towards the heel.

PXG 0211 Key Features

The first thing we noticed when testing these two iron sets side by side is that the PXG 0211’s actually have a larger footprint.

So right off the bat, they will look more congenial for beginners and high handicappers. The area of the face that flexes is also very large thanks to the 360 degree undercut channel that goes all around the face.

Then, the face was constructed from maraging steel which is incredibly thin. This allows more weight to be distributed deep and low in the head – and indeed, the PXG 0211’s launch very high.

Titleist T300 Vs Titleist T200’s

The Titleist T200 are definitely more for scratch golfers looking for better short-game performance.

The T200’s have noticeably less offset and shorter blades than the Titleist T300 irons. They do sport the same polymer insert though. Also, the T200’s have a muscle back design as opposed to the cavity back of the Titleist T300’s.

PXG 0211 Vs PXG 0211 ST

If you are looking for optimum feel from your irons, the PXG 0211 ST’s may be just what you need.

First of all, the 0211 ST’s are triple-forged giving them amazing consistency and a buttery feel with maximum feedback.

Thay are also single-piece irons and have a more streamlined muscle back design.

Who is Each Set for?

Both of these sets would be great for anyone looking for a combination of premium feel and forgiveness.

That all being said, we think the Titleist T300’s were more forgiving. They did a better job of preserving ball speed on mis-hits and the more pronounced offset will really benefit beginners.

Composition Comparison

This is where the PXG 0211 irons really differentiate themselves.

The PXG 0211 irons feature maraging steel faces which are incredibly thin and has a better feel than the Titleist T300’s.

The 0211’s are also hollow-body irons so that a layer of impact-dampening material could be injected into the head.

Unlike the polymer insert of the Titleist T300 irons though, this insert in the PXG 0211 iron heads doesn’t help much with ball speed. The Titleist T300’s do have tungsten weights which helps with launch as well.

Performance Comparison

Both of these iron sets produce pretty much effortless launch.

And the 0211’s would be more forgiving overall if they had more offset and a larger footprint. The 360 degree undercut really makes the sweet spot almost unmissable. So you get great distance in the long irons.

Still, the Titleist T300’s were more forgiving overall. The 0211’s performed better around the green though. There was more spin control and tighter shot dispersion with the PXG 0211 irons.

Price Comparison

Your choice of shaft will surely have a large bearing on the price of these irons but the Titleist T300’s will generally be more expensive.

A complete set of Titleist T300 irons (new) typically runs between $800 and $1000. You can score a new set of PXG 0211 irons for about $600-$800.

Final Thoughts

It was really tough for us to choose our favorite set between these two.

Mainly because they were so similar in many performance aspects. Both were almost equally forgiving and provided good distance.

However, the Titleist T300’s did just a bitmore in terms of forgiveness and distance which gives them a slight edge for us.

The PXG 0211 irons are definitely the ones you will want around the green and they even feel better than the Titleist T300 irons.

For beginners though, we think the Titleist T300 will be more appreciated.
