Tisha Alyn was born on August 10th, 1993 in Illinois. She was born to John and Circe Abrea which, is why you will sometimes see her name listed as Tisha Alyn Abrea. Tisha started with the game of golf at an early age. She credits her father with getting her into the game.
Her father would take her to the driving range as early as the age of 8 and let her practice with him. She cites her father as a major influence on her career as he taught her how to overcome the racial barriers she would have to face. Tisha also has 2 younger brothers named Tyril and Trent.

Tisha has described her journey as a member of the LGBTQ community as a source of pride but also a struggle. In one video in which she opens up about the experience of coming out as a lesbian, she says that her parents had a very hard time coming to terms with her announcement.
Since then, her parents have divorced and she has built a better relationship with them as individuals. She also says that the pressure of coming out at the same time her pro career began ultimately became a burden.
That coupled with the fact that she could no longer afford to pursue professional golf is what ultimately led her to step away from professional competition. However, Tisha still plays recreationally and she has cited the Alta Vista Country Club in California as her favorite all-time course to play.
She has also said that if she could caddie for anyone on the PGA Tour it would be Rickey Fowler because he seems like a “fun guy.”
