Pro Rider Electric Golf Trolley Review

In most cases, we are going to tell you to stay away from “bargain” electric golf caddies. Like many things in life, when it comes to electric golf caddies, you get what you pay for. But every once in a while someone makes a quality product without charging through the nose for it.

We uncovered one such product in the electric golf caddie category and we felt it our duty to make sure as many people know about it as possible. The paltry price tag of the Pro Rider Electric Golf Trolley defies it’s quality and in today’s review, we are going to tell you all about it.

Quick Overview

We know that many of you simply want to decide what gear you are going to buy so that you can get out on the links quicker. We don’t blame you.

So for those pressed for time or anyone who simply just likes to cut to the chase, here are the 3 main reasons you should give the Pro Rider Electric Golf Trolley serious consideration if you are in the market for an electric golf caddie:

7 Speeds

With the Pro Rider Electric Golf Trolley you get precision speed control.

The remote allows you to choose from 7 operating speeds so no matter how fast or slow you like to take it on the course the Pro Rider Electric Golf Trolley will keep pace.

It Folds Down

One of the problems with electric golf caddies is that many of them can’t fold down.

This makes storage and transportation a nightmare. But the Pro Rider Electric Golf Trolley does fold down to about half it’s size when it is unfurled.

Programmable Distance

The Pro Rider Electric Golf Trolley can be set to a timer as well. If you are at a hole, you can set the Pro Rider Electric Golf Trolley to start up on its own without having to push any buttons.

The distance the Pro Rider Electric Golf Trolley goes on its own can also be adjusted and programmed.

First Impressions

The first thing we thought when we saw how much the Pro Rider Electric Golf Trolley costed was that it was going to be a cheaply made caddie and when we got it out on the course it was suitably steady.

But we quickly learned that our prediction was inaccurate. The Pro Rider Electric Golf Trolley sports a durable yet lightweight aluminum frame.

And the battery compartment is completely sealed so you should have no issues with shorts or burnouts even when you are playing in rain.

Key Features

 The Remote

Let’s start with the remote. The remote is uniquely shaped. We wouldn’t call it ergonomic exactly but it is pretty cool overall. It features an LED display that tells you the speed the cart is operating at and which mode you are in.

With the remote you can choose from the 7 different speeds and steer the cart left, right, backwards and forwards. The Pro Rider Electric Golf Trolley is rated to handle inclines of up to 35 degrees. It features two larger wheels in the back and a smaller wheel in the front.

3 Wheel Offset Design

This 3-wheel offset design makes it very stable overall.

And the wheels are made of airless hardened rubber so there’s no maintenance required.

The Pro Rider Electric Golf Trolley is powered by a single 250 watt electric motor.

Digital Display

The digital display on the remote will also tell you the charge status of the battery. Speaking of the battery, the weight of the cart with the battery loaded but no bags is 41 pounds.

On a full charge, the battery will last you about 2 full rounds provided that you aren’t using the top speed the entire time.

Performance Analysis

We were afraid that with the light aluminum frame this electric caddie would have problems with hills. But the Pro Rider Electric Golf Trolley tackled inclines of up to 35 degrees without toppling over. The battery life was good too. It lasted for 2 full rounds while we switched from different modes.

The remote is a bit awkwardly shaped but we liked the fact that it had an easy to read digital display that let us know how much juice was left in the battery.

And weight capacity was no problem with this cart. We loaded a full bag with 14 clubs, a lunch bag and a drink onto the Pro Rider Electric Golf Trolley and it it didn’t slow down. It pulls consistently so long as the battery has charge.

The Pro Rider Electric Golf Trolley is easy to control and the rear wheels can be detached if you need it to be more compact.

How Much Does It Cost?

At most major retailers you can get the Pro Rider Electric Golf Trolley for well under $500 or £400.

Final Assessment

Despite the fact that the rear wheel stance is a bit narrow and the accessories aren’t as functional as they could be, you can’t go wrong with the Pro Rider Electric Golf Trolley. It has the essentials that anyone in the market for an electric caddie needs and you can get it for a remarkable price.

Perhaps the nicest thing about the Pro Rider Electric Golf Trolley is that it carries surprisingly heavy loads for an electric caddie at this price point. Overall, we would recommend the Pro Rider Electric Golf Trolley to any golfer looking to ease the burden of bags and gear.
