So today we thought we’d do your homework for you. We went out and tested 2 comparable types of golf balls from Callaway and Pinnacle. For all the golfers who can’t get a ball fitting for whatever reason, we offer this helpful comparison review

 

Pinnacle Soft Golf Balls

Pinnacle is a well-known name in the golf world. With their Pinnacle Soft balls, they aim to offer an affordable ball that will be a boon to any beginner’s game. The Pinnacle Soft balls can be seen as a value ball. They are inexpensive but still offer quality features.

As the name implies, these balls have a soft, low-compression core. They feature a 2-piece construction that is designed for maximum distance in this price range.

The cover is made of Pinnacle’s very own ionomer material which adds to the overall soft feel of these balls. You also get 332 icosahedral dimples with the Pinnacle Softs.

Pros:

• Low spin when in flight
• Offer good distance
• Great ball for high handicappers
• Good ball speed
• Great for senior players as well
• Good value for the price

Cons:

• Rolls too much on the green at times
• Hard to get good loft at times with these balls

Callaway Supersoft Balls

If you are aiming for straighter shots, the Callaway Supersoft golf balls may be perfect for you. Like the Pinnacle Soft golf balls, the Callaway Supersoft golf balls do not spin much when in flight. The result: much straighter and easily controlled shots.

These are two-piece balls. The cover is made of a trinomer blend while the core is made of polybutadiene. This is also a very low-compression ball so it will be easier for beginners to use them to get good initial distance and velocity on their swings.

There are 332 hexagonal shaped dimples on these balls which were designed for minimal drag and longer carry. Plus, they come in a variety of bright colors so it’s really hard to lose them on the course.

Pros:

• Easy to get consistent distances out of these balls
• Even more affordable than the Pinnacle Soft golf balls
• Great for beginners
• Ultra-soft, low-compression makes them ideal for older players
• Good for players with low swing speeds
• They offer good hold on greens

Cons:

• Not as good if you have a high swing speed
• Higher cost compared to budget golf balls

Performance Comparison

For beginners and high handicappers, both of these balls are great. You get great distance out of them with ease – ideal for any beginner or high handicapper to gain confidence and stay engaged in the game.

These 2 balls are constructed very similarly as well so at first glance, they perform pretty much the same. However, we did notice one glaring difference between these two balls that some beginners may not pick up on: green performance.

While both of them give good distance and allow for supremely straight shots with low spin, the Callaway Supersoft golf balls stuck to the green better than the Pinnacle soft golf balls. We got better control on putts with the Callaway’s than with the Pinnacle’s.

 

Price Comparison

The Callaway Supersoft golf balls will run you about $22 for a sleeve of a dozen while the Pinnacle Soft balls will cost about $24 for a dozen.

 

Which Balls are Better?

If you are looking to improve your handicap and want to get good positioning off the tee, either of these balls would be helpful. But if you want to look ahead and use a ball that will help you on the green, we think the Callaway Supersoft golf balls would be a better buy.
