Net Return Pro Series V2 Review

Just like with any sport, practice is the key to improving in golf.

The tricky thing about golf though is that it’s not always easy to practice.

Sometimes it’s raining, way too hot outside and sometimes you simply don’t have the time to drive down to your local course or driving range.

So practicing at home, in your backyard or in the garage is not only a great convenience; it will also help you improve quicker.

To that end we tested the Net Return Pro Series V2. This is a practice net that you can set up at home and it can be used for multiple sports.

How did the Net Return Pro Series V2 hold up? Is it a good choice for players looking to practice more at home? Let’s get into the details.

Net Return Pro Series V2 Overview

The Net Return Pro Series V2 has a nice aluminum frame.

The framing is lightweight and pretty easy to put together overall. Plus, it’s aluminum which means it is very durable and will even hold up in extreme weather.

The frame is 7 feet 6 inches tall, 8 feet wide and 3 feet 6 inches from front to back. It comes with a UV-treated black polyester net that the company will stand behind with a warranty for up to a quarter of a million shots.

We’re not sure how they would be able to tell how many shots you’ve taken into the Net Return Pro Series V2 but at least it’s nice that the company stands by their product.

And of course, the major marketing point is that the Net Return Pro Series V2 will actually roll the ball back to you after you hit it into the net.

It should also be noted that the base package only comes with the frame and the net. You can upgrade the package to include side barrier nets and turf.

First Impressions

net return pro1

When we unboxed the Net Return Pro Series V2, we were a little overwhelmed because just from reading the dimensions, we didn’t realize how big this net would be.

It does take up a decent amount of room at 8 feet wide and over 7 feet tall so just make sure that you have enough space to set it up.

However, once we started putting it together, we were pleased with how sturdy and strong the aluminum tubing that makes up the frame was.

You can just tell by the heavy netting and the strong aluminum frame that this net will last for a long time and keep all your balls in check.

Key Features

The features of the Net Return Pro Series V2 are pretty bare bones.

As we mentioned already, you can get an upgraded kit that includes a turf mat and side net panels, but we tested the base kit for this review.

  • Aluminum Framing – The tubular aluminum frame is very sturdy and lightweight. Every piece of the frame is unique too so it’s very easy to tell which parts go where when you’re putting the net together.
  • UV-Treated Netting – The netting feels very substantial in the hands. In fact, it’s actually a bit heavy but that’s a good thing because it means it will last. It’s made of UV-treated polyester so it should hold up even if you keep it outside where it’s exposed to the sun.
  • Ball Return System – The net will actually bounce your balls back to you after every swing.

Quick Facts

  • 8 foot height

  • Polyester netting

How Does it Perform?

net return pro2

We were very pleased with how the Net Return Pro Series V2 worked.

It was pretty much everything we look for in a practice net: it’s rugged, durable, keeps your balls corralled and it’s fairly easy to set up.

It’s tall enough to catch your full swings and even if you have a fast swing speed, you won’t damage the tough polyester netting. This is a great net for practicing your ball striking.

Is it Better Than the V1?

The Net Return Pro Series V2 just feels a lot stabler and sturdier than the V1 practice net. The dimensions are exactly the same; but the Net Return Pro Series V2 has upgraded materials.

Is it Good for Use With A Simulator?

Absolutely. In fact the company sells a complete net and simulator setup kit but you can also use it with a 3rd party simulator.

Net Return Simulator Series

The Simulator series uses a projector to simulate actual golf courses right on the impact screen.

The set has the same net dimensions and also comes with the side barrier nets. The simulations are crisp and offer an immersive experience.

Net Return Pro Turf

The Pro Turf Series is the same as the Net Return Pro Series V2, just with a 10’ turf mat.

The mat has a rubber underside so it doesn’t slip around and is about ¾” thick. We tested the Net Return Pro Series V2 without the mat and honestly, we could have used it.

If you have the money, it’s worth springing for the mat or simply getting a 3rd party turf mat.

Does It Come As A Packager With Skytrak?

Yes, you can buy the Net Return Pro Series V2 with a package that includes the SkyTrak Launch Monitor.

Final Thoughts

net return pro4

The Net Return Pro Series V2 is a bit on the pricey side but we would say that it’s worth the money.

This may very well be the last practice net you will ever need and the best part is that it’s great for practicing all your shots – save for putts.

You can use it with real golf balls, practice all of your clubs with it and trust that it will last for a long time. A good investment overall.
