MOG Tour X Rezults 12pc Golf Club Set Review Vs Alternatives

The MOG Tour X Rezults golf club set provides surprising performance in an incredibly affordable package.

In fact, some of the same features that this set has can be found in much more expensive sets. Still, you have to know the details before you can decide whether any golf club set is right for you. So let’s take a closer look at this set!

What to Look for in Beginner’s Clubs

Not all beginner’s clubs are made the same. In general, you will want to keep an eye out for:

Accuracy & Forgiveness

When your clubs are more forgiving, you will generally be more accurate.

This means straighter shots. For straighter shots, you may want toe-biased weighting in your irons. In general though, perimeter weighting will be helpful for increasing forgiveness and accuracy.

Low CG Woods

Low Center of Gravity will help with launch, distance and forgiveness.

You want most of the weight of the club head to be placed in the rear of the club head to increase MOI.

Shaft Material

Your shaft should match your swing speed.

Most beginners will have slow swing speeds so graphite shafts are the way to go. Graphite shafts flex more which will help with ball speed. They are also lightweight which will also help get your swing speed up.

Shaft Flex

The flex dictates how much the shaft is able to bend on impact.

You will want a relatively high amount of “give” or “bend” as a beginner so amateur or regular flex would work best.

First Impressions

We were first taken with the size of the irons.

Even without comparing them to other irons, we could see that the irons in this set were oversized. They are cavity-back irons with wide soles and very large head profiles. They look very forgiving right out of the box.

Who is the Set for?

The MOG Tour X Rezults set is best for beginner to mid handicap players.

There may be some gapping issues for mid handicappers but the set still offers a good combination of feel, distance and forgiveness which is why slightly more skilled players would also benefit.

The MOG Tour X Rezults Driver

Amazingly, the MOG Tour X Rezults driver is forged.

It offers incredible feel and consistency. It’s a 460CC driver so it’s big and forgiving and the graphite shaft will help players with slower swing speeds get adequate distance from the tee.

The MOG Tour X Rezults Fairway Wood

The fairway wood in this set also features a graphite shaft and is very lightweight overall.

Our high handicap testers noted a slight increase in club head speed with this fairway wood, evidenced by launch monitor readouts.

The MOG Tour X Rezults Hybrid

The set also includes a perimeter-weighted hybrid.

The best thing about this hybrid is that it’s very forgiving. Distance is a bit lacking; but it is very consistent on off-center strikes. Even when hitting close to the toe, our balls weren’t hooking very much.

The MOG Tour X Rezults Irons

Your iron options are pretty limited in this set; but at least they are incredibly forgiving.

At address, you can see how wide the soles are as they jut out behind the head. Launch is more than adequate and the perimeter weighting will help you keep your ball on the fairway or land it softly on the green.

The MOG Tour X Rezults Pitching Wedge

The PW in this set is also perimeter weighted which increases forgiveness.

It is also on the large side so workability is a bit of an issue but most beginners won’t notice. The pitching wedge pops up high and because of the steep descent angle, is able to stop on fast greens.

The MOG Tour X Rezults Putter

The putter is a bit on the heavy side but it produces a smooth roll and feels very well-balanced in the hands.

This is actually a great putter for all kinds of players as the weight pretty much does all the heavy lifting for you. Beginners may need some time to get used to it; but it allows for a fluid stroke in the end.

Conclusion

The MOG Tour X Rezults golf club set offers forgiveness throughout the set, making it great for beginners.

Mid-handicappers will also appreciate the feel from the forged driver. While durability is a bit of an issue, for the price, you can’t go wrong. It’s rare that beginner’s clubs are built for longevity anyway so the MOG Tour X Rezults set is definitely worth a look.
