Mitsubishi Tensei CK White Shaft Review – Specs, Flex, Weight

Mitsubishi Tensei CK White Shaft

It’s clear that there are a lot of smart people working over at Mitsubishi  Chemical Group.

While a lot of the technology they incorporate into their shafts is well over our heads, it’s evident that whatever they’re doing, works.

That’s because Mitsubishi shafts almost always feel exceptionally smooth and clean.

We should know, we have tested many Mitsubishi shafts and some of our testers game them.

In this testing round, we had the pleasure of putting the Mitsubishi Tensei CK White through its paces. The following review details our experiences with the Mitsubishi Tensei CK White.

Mitsubishi Tensei CK White Shaft Overview

We like the fact that the entire Tensei CK line of driver shafts keeps graphics simple and clean.

The Mitsubishi Tensei CK White is no exception. It has a black finish, white lettering and few logos. Near the butt, you can see the carbon/kevlar weave; but only if you’re looking closely.

Overall, it’s a smart-looking shaft that provides little opportunity for distraction.

We were not disappointed by the feel of this shaft either. While there isn’t much of a kick, it doesn’t feel harsh. There is a bit of give near the butt section that absorbs a lot of the shock.

Even on your strongest loads, the Mitsubishi Tensei CK White simply feels stable. You can also feel how stiff the tip section of this shaft is.

The Mitsubishi Tensei CK White was designed for tip stiffness and low launch. Mitsubishi hypes this profile up more than anything in fact.

They also claim that they have made countless variations of carbon fiber and resin to achieve the lightest material blend for this shaft.

Be aware that the Mitsubishi Tensei CK White comes in only two weight classes and they are both pretty light overall.

Still, the Mitsubishi Tensei CK White doesn’t feel insubstantial by any means. It can keep up with your strongest swings and feel light in the process.

Why is the Mitsubishi Tensei CK White So Popular?

Mitsubishi Tensei CK White Shaft1

The Mitsubishi Tensei CK White is part of a driver shaft family that has experienced success on the PGA Tour.

In fact, Tiger Woods has used the Mitsubishi Tensei shafts. When arguably the greatest player of all time uses your shafts, you can bet they are going to get popular.

Besides that though, the Tensei shafts are known for amazing feel and the Mitsubishi Tensei CK White certainly lives up to that reputation.

How Does the Mitsubishi Tensei CK White Perform?

The Mitsubishi Tensei CK White is advertised as a low launch, stiff tip shaft.

And we can tell you right now that yes, the Mitsubishi Tensei CK White produces low, penetrating flight.

But the thing they don’t tell you and what deeply impressed us was that the Mitsubishi Tensei CK White feels incredibly stable on powerful swings.

We were swinging as hard as we could and at no time did we feel that we lost the shaft or that the club head was out of control.

To make things even more impressive, all of our testers described the Mitsubishi Tensei CK White as “light.”

So in the end, you have an incredibly stable shaft that invites you to swing outside of yourself and is easy on the body.

In terms of distance, the Mitsubishi Tensei CK White certainly prefers a fast swing. Our fast swing speed testers were getting carry distances upwards of 270 yards.

Our slower swinging testers didn’t fare quite so well. However, the slower swingers also said that the Mitsubishi Tensei CK White was forgiving.

For all of our testers, the off-line divergence of the Mitsubishi Tensei CK White never exceeded 10 yards – truly amazing. Spin rates also stayed in the 1700 – 1900 RPM range.

Mitsubishi Tensei CK White First Impressions

Mitsubishi Tensei CK White Shaft2

What struck us first was how forgiving this shaft was.

The tip is so stiff that even slight mis-hits were looking like dead-center strikes.

Key Features & Performance

The Mitsubishi Tensei CK White uses a carbon fiber/kevlar weave.

We suspect that this is how this shaft is able to be so stable and so light at the same time.

Mitsubishi Tensei CK White Driver Review

When we plugged the Mitsubishi Tensei CK White into our testing driver, we were amazed at how easy it was to take a normal shot and get straight flight.

It’s easy to make a shaft with a super-stiff tip. But it becomes something to behold when a stiff-tip shaft performs well with your natural swing.

Who Should Buy it?

The Mitsubishi Tensei CK White is a great shaft for moderate and fast swing speed players.

It’s really amazing how you get good distance and accuracy whether you have an aggressive or moderate tempo. Of course, faster swingers will get more distance out of this shaft but that’s to be expected.
