Megan Khang: Early Life and Parents
After the Vietnam War, when they were children, Megan’s parents escaped with their respective families to the United States from Laos via Thailand.
The bravery Lee and Nou displayed despite their fears is an inspiration for Megan.
“My parents and my grandparents were very brave in that sense, and so I’m just trying to make all of them proud and myself proud as well.”
The family’s next risky move was for Lee to quit his job managing the auto-repair shop he started with his brothers to coach and support Megan full-time. Nou, a school teacher, became the sole breadwinner.
