Key Features

This driver is a fast swing players delight. Because even if you come down on the ball hot, this Ping driver really reduces ball spin from the tee. The result is a surprisingly straight shot and greater ball speed in one of the best drivers on the market in 2021.

There is also a 17 gram weight shifter in the head which helps correct draw and fade. So for a tour-grade driver, this one is surprisingly forgiving and user-friendly. Day plays his with a TPT 14 shaft but it comes stock with a Ping Alta CB slate. You can also get it with an Aldila Rogue White shaft.

It also comes stock with Arccos Smart Caddie grips. You can get the Ping G425 LST in 9 and 10.5 degree loft versions.

These balls are definitely more for players with fast swing speeds. We’re talking in the neighborhood of 105 mph and faster.

They perform really well with wedges thanks to the gradational compression core which allows for good greenside spin.

What about Jason Day’s Caddy?

Jason Day’s caddie is Luke Reardon. But he hasn’t always been on the bag for Day. In 2017, Day split with his long-time caddie Colin Swatton. When asked why Swatton was kicked off the team, Day said it was to preserve the personal relationship.

Day tried a coupel different caddies after his split with Swatton but no one seemed to work. That’s when Reardon came on the scene. Jason Day actually had a pre-existing relationship with Reardon as the two used to be roommates.

Reardon, who is originally from Queensland, Australia, has been Day’s caddie since 2017 and the duo has looked solid on tour.
