Confidence Men’s V3 Golf Club Set Review

The journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step. Apt words – especially when applied to the game of golf. You really need to learn how to crawl in golf long before you can run.

There is a lot to learn about the game but the good news is that you can flatten the learning curve a bit.

How? By choosing a good set of beginner’s golf clubs.

Today’s review is all about a set of clubs that may not do much for advanced players; but for high-handicappers they are a godsend.

Plus they are plenty affordable so let’s take a look.

First Impressions

Our first impression was a bit of a bummer because this is a left-handed set. So that meant that only our left-handed testers were going to be able to use them.

But we all handled them and did some practice swings with them and we were all taken aback at how light they were.

This is a great set if you don’t want to lug around a heavy bag. Plus, the heads were weighted nicely so they were ultra-comfortable to swing with.

What the Set Includes

Driver

The Confidence Men’s Power V3 set includes a 460cc driver – the biggest size allowed for tournament play. It is set to 10.5 degrees of loft and plays very long.

Hybrid

The set includes a #5 hybrid that is set to 24 degrees of loft. The head is specially designed to increase club head speed and is very forgiving.

Irons

You get irons 6 through 9 in the Confidence Men’s Power V3 set and they all feature cavity-backed heads.

Wedges

The Confidence Men’s Power V3 only comes with a pitching wedge but it is lofted nice and high for good apex height.

Putter

The Confidence Men’s Power V3 is rounded with a semi-mallet putter that provides great feel overall.

Club Composition

The nice thing about this set is that the driver has a titanium head. This not only makes it durable but it sounds great on dead-center shots too.

All of the clubs in the set are outfitted with alloy steel shafts so while they don’t offer much flex, they are still lightweight.

The Confidence Men’s Power V3 clubs are set to regular flex which is beneficial for beginners to start working up their ball speed without developing a dependence on higher flex clubs.

Each of the clubs in this set are also fitted with all-weather grips that feel springy to the touch and effectively dampen vibration from high bounce shots or shots close to the heel or toe.

Club Options

You don’t get much in the way of options for the Confidence Men’s Power V3 golf club set. It is currently only available as a right-handed set.

And there is no configuration that includes a fairway wood either – just the setup mentioned here consisting of a driver, hybrid, irons, a PW and a putter.

But the good news is that the Confidence Men’s Power V3 set comes with a very nice stand bag. The legs pop out and engage easily and you get a spacious 5-way divider top for all the clubs in the set.

Our Final Assessment

Sure, the Confidence Men’s Power V3 are nothing to write home about.

But if you are in the market for an affordable set of beginners golf clubs that gets the job done, you can’t do much better.

They play long from the driver to the pitching wedge and allow for a surprising amount of spin control.

We would like to have seen a fairway wood included in the set but when you consider the price (around $190 at most retail sites), it’s easy to justify this omission.

For all beginners, these clubs are good quality and won’t let you down, but it is always hard to look past the Callaway Strata overall.
