Cobra XL vs. Cobra F-Max Airspeed Golf Club Comparison – What’s The Better Set

Choosing a complete golf set can be difficult because of all the options out there. The good news is that if you are deciding between these two Cobra sets, you have already done an excellent job of narrowing down your choices. Cobra makes some of, if not the best complete golf sets on the market. The Cobra sets offer high performing clubs packaged together to save you large sums of money. Purchasing the Cobra set as individual pieces instead of a complete set would cost thousands of dollars. Two of the top options are the XL and F Max Superlite Complete sets. We will break down the difference between these two sets to help you purchase the one that is a good fit for your golf game.

Cobra XL Speed Complete Set

The Cobra XL Speed Complete Set comes with the following . . .

  • Driver
  • 3 Wood
  • 5 Wood
  • 4 Hybrid
  • 5 Hybrid
  • 6-9 Irons
  • PW
  • SW
  • Putter
  • Golf Bag

These are clubs that are designed to be forgiving. The head shape and design are built so that you will be able to launch the ball higher. If you are looking for both distance and forgiveness, you will enjoy this golf set. As far as complete golf sets go, this is not a set made up of cheap materials; the Cobra golf sets are high quality.

The irons are a traditional cavity back with a graphite shaft. The fairway woods are a bit of a low profile design to help you hit shots off the fairway just as quickly as off the tee.

The Cobra XL Speed Golf Bag has the fourteen way top, seven zippered compartments, a valuables pocket, and a beverage cooler as well. The golf bag alone is worth quite a bit of money if it is sold outright. It is a cart bag, and the black color will keep it from getting dirty after just a season or two.

Cobra F Max Airspeed Complete Set

The Cobra F Max Airspeed Complete Set comes with . . .

  • Driver
  • 3 Wood
  • 5 Wood
  • 4 Hybrid
  • 5 Hybrid
  • 6-9
  • PW
  • SW
  • Putter
  • Bag

The Airspeed golf set is a very lightweight and forgiving set of clubs. The Driver is offset to help players that struggle with hitting a bit of a slice. Cobras E9 technology was used on this set to help promote incredible feel and precision coming off the clubface.

Just like the XL, this set has very forgiving weighting to help increase launch. The irons are cavity back design, and they feature a progressive offset. As you move closer to the five iron, the golf clubs are going to be more offset.

The golf bag on this Airspeed set is a premium bag that has the 14 way top, nine zipper compartments a valuables pocket, and a cooler that can hold up to fourteen cans (That should be enough cans for your entire foursome!)

The Comparison

Now that you have a better understanding of what each set contains and the basics of the technology included, it is time to figure out which one is the better set for you. We have tried to break this down into categories for you so that you can decide on what matters the most for your golf game.

Shafts

Although both sets of clubs are going to contain graphite shafts better for slower swinging players seeking distance, the Superlite set has lighter shaft and club weight. The Superlite set is going to be best for someone with slow swing speeds who feels that their swing speed is what causes the lack of distance. Both sets are available in both Regular and Senior shaft; you cannot get either set in stiff flex.

Grips

Both the Cobra XL and the Cobra Airspeed come with a standard golf grip. If you need something oversized or midsized, you would have to order this set and then have your club regripped. There is no option to purchase this club custom from the manufacturer. It comes complete as the whole set, or you would have to buy a set in pieces and put it together. Some of the components of the XL Speed set are sold individually, but not all.

Set Makeup

Cobra XL 3 Wood

The set makeup of both of these sets is a perfect combination. You get everything you need with this set, and most players will never need to add another club to their bag after purchasing one of these Cobra options.

Pricing

Cobra XL 20 Dgree Hybrid

As far as pricing is concerned, the Airspeed is going to be a bit more expensive than the XL Speed. Depending on the pricing offered on any given day, the difference is usually a few hundred dollars. You may be wondering what makes up that price difference.

The Airspeed is considered the premium option because it has a very lightweight shaft, grip, and clubhead. To manufacture this club, it took a bit more research and fine-tuning, and for that reason, they price it a bit higher.

The other difference you will see between the sets is that the Superlite golf bag is a little more advanced than the XL Speed. The XL Speed is plenty big enough and has everything you would need, but the Superlite bag is more of a premium model.

Which Set Should You Get?

We cannot really say that one of these sets is better than the other. Indeed, they are designed for two different players.
