First Impressions

Of course, the first thing that anyone will notice about the Cobra Air X golf clubs is the weight.It starts with the driver which sports a ridiculous 277 gram head – the lightest of any Cobra driver. You will also notice that the woods feature carbon crowns.

You can just see it at point of address and it looks really cool. It gives them a premium look and you can just feel how much lighter it makes the club head on your back swing.

The Cobra Air X Set

Driver

“As we already mentioned, the Cobra Air X driver sports a super lightweight 277 gram head.”

And other than the carbon crown, when you look down at the driver behind the ball, you will see that it has a good amount of offset. Indeed, the Cobra Air X driver flies straight and will help you improve your swing speed.

Fairways

“The Cobra Air X set comes with a #3 fairway wood that has a nice deep CG.”

Other than the congenial CG, the Cobra Air X fairway wood features a carbon crown that again, makes it very lightweight and comfortable to swing. There is also heel-based weighting so it’s easier to close the clubface at impact.

Hybrids

You get 2 hybrids in this set: a 4-hybrid and a 5-hybrid. These hybrids are great if you are struggling with a slice and the expansive face construction will provide more forgiveness on off-center strikes.

Irons

For example, the 9-iron in this set is 40 degrees. That’s enough loft to get anyone’s shot up in the air. These are cavity back irons and like the other clubs in the set, feature pronounced offset.

Wedges

The wedges in this set pop up nicely and are excellent on bump and run shots even if your green is playing fast. Spin rates are a bit low for our liking; but again, you get great and nearly effortless launch.

Putter

We were surprised with the forward roll on this putter. It’s smooth and produces little skip. The feel was also on par with other mid-grade putters.

You can choose from Cobra FST Ultralite Steel shafts in stiff and regular, or Cobra Ultralie graphite shafts in stiff, regular or lite flex. The set also comes stock with Lamkin REL standard grips.
