Callaway GPSy Golf GPS Watch Review
The Callaway GPSy is a quality golf gps watch with a ton of features that make it useful on and off the course. Accuracy is always going to be a key consideration and the GPSy will not let you down in this regard from the moment you arrive at the course. I had to take my last watch off after every round as it was too big and bulky. I only want to own one watch that I can wear all the time. The Callaway GPSy Golf GPS Watch is a competitively priced watch that has features that make it useful on and off the golf course. It is a slim watch and it looks good on my wrist at all times.
On the Links
When you first start your round the GPSy Golf GPS Watch quickly detects which course you are on and pulls up valuable information that is available at the touch of a button.
It immediately tells you how for you are from the front, back and middle of the green as well as the par and the time in the “Golf Play Mode.”
The cool thing about this mode is that it will tell you your distance from the front, back and middle of the green even if you are behind it so no need to worry if you overshoot it.
With the touch of a button you can exit the “Golf Play Mode” and enter the “Shot Distance” feature which uses GPS to accurately determine how far you hit your ball.
The watch comes preloaded with about 30,000 golf course maps. As soon as you pull into the parking lot, the watch will pick up the course you are on and load the data up.
Hazard and Green Yardages
The watch has tons of data on each course including dogleg, bunker and hazard distances allowing you to play the perfect shot and easily avoiding the hazards so you wont end up the drink.
The watch will last 10-12 in GPS mode which is competitive with other models and it will last 90 days in non GPS mode, making it perfect for off the course.
What Makes it Useful Off the Links
The odometer function is the one that I use when I am not golfing because I like to run and jog. This Golf GPS Watch is a great watch for golfers who are active outside of just playing golf.
And of course…it tells the time! Which may not seem like a big deal but my last watch would sometimes be off by a couple of hours because it used satellite time. The GPSy Golf GPS Watch uses satellite time as well but I have yet to experience any inaccuracies.
The display is a nice size as well. It is 1.28 inches and clear enough to see in the direct sunlight or at night.
The Way it Looks
The GPSy Golf GPS Watch looks a lot like a FitBit or smart watch or one of those Casio calculator watches that seem to be back in style. I love the design of this watch. It is very thin and comfortable without sacrificing anything in the way of display clarity.
This is a watch that I don’t take off when my round is done. The design is modern and clean enough to be appropriate in all settings. I bought the black one and the only time I take it off is for formal occasions.

A Versatile Golf Watch
I have to give this watch a positive review despite the fact that it is not touchscreen and doesn’t display alerts from my phone because it is a useful and versatile watch.
It has all the functions that a real golfer actually needs and it looks great and has use for people who are active off the golf course. Plus, you can’t beat the price.
I have actually received complements about my GPSy Golf GPS Watch both on and off the course and I recommend it to anyone I know that golfs. So if you are reading this and value a stylish watch that you can use when you are away from the links give the GPSy Golf GPS Watch a try.
