Caddie

Brittany Lincicome3

Missy Pederson, a Division III women’s basketball All-American at the University of St. Thomas, has caddied for Brittany Lincicome since 2013.

This analytical former basketball guard is a native of Plymouth, Minnesota who got a relatively late start to golf back in 2002 at the Solheim Cup.

Missy graduated with a biology degree, her basketball career came to an end, and she decided to play golf professionally.

After a few years as an amateur, she played professionally for two seasons before she realised she had started too late to compete at that level.

She loved golf and still wanted to be part of it, so she became one of the best caddies across men’s and women’s Tours.

Husband

Brittany Lincicome4

Brittany Lincicome is married to South African-born Dewald Gouws, also known as D to his friends and family.

Dewald was a professional golfer who reached the finals of the 2008 RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship.

Brittany and Dewald got married on 12 December 2015 and she celebrated this day on her Instagram account.

Little Emery Reign Gouws followed a little prematurely in July 2019 and is impatiently waiting for a little sister at the time of writing, in 2022.

House

Brittany Lincicome5

In November 2017, Brittany and Dewald bought a house in Gulfport, not far from St Petersburg, the town where she was born.

Her new home offers Bam Bam a home-field advantage like no other at the Pelican Women’s Championship.

When Brittany needs to unplug, she escapes to her 24-foot Sheaffer boat, “Taking Relief” for a fishing trip, or plays a few hands of Texas Hold-em poker.

Family

Brittany Lincicome6

While golf is her career, Brittany is Emery’s mom first and a pro golfer next.

Family is important to Brittany and hers has supported her from the moment she picked up golf clubs at the age of nine.

Her parents Tommy and Angie–who have owned a daycare for over 30 years–moved her and her brothers Hunter and Bryan in order to provide Brittany with the best resources to improve her game.

Up until today, her parents come out to watch every single event in which she participates.

Brittany Lincicome7

Brittany Lincicome is not a country club scion, however, she is every bit the golf prodigy that her parents recognised early on.

Thanks to her family’s sacrifices and her own, Brittany has achieved a level of success while retaining a cool head.

This tenacious 300-yard powerhouse dirver is not one to give up. As she says, “where there’s a will, there’s a way!”
