What Size Grips to Use

Grip Naturally

With nothing in your hands, stand straight and let your arms rest at your side. With your lead hand, simply grip the club as naturally as possible. This should be your positioning for every swing.

Grip Length

Remember that the golf grip should run from the middle of your index finger to the base of your pinky.

Choke Up

Much like a baseball bat, you get more control when you choke up a bit on the shaft. Ideally, you want to begin your grip about a half an inch up from the end of the shaft.

The Neutral Position

As you grip your club and look down, the thumb and index finger of your left hand should be making a “V” shape with the tip pointing at your right shoulder. This is called the neutral position. You should also only be able to see the knuckle of your thumb, index finger and part of the knuckle of your middle finger.

Right Hand

With your left hand in the neutral position, place the fleshy part of your right palm right on top of where your left thumb is.
