This is certainly one of the more intriguing and convenient golf push carts that we ever tested. As the name indicated, the Bag Boy Nitron golf push cart features nitro-fueled pistons which make opening and closing this cart as easy as pushing a button.

Key Features

That’s right, there are no clasps or locks to fiddle with on the Bag Boy Nitron. All you do is unload your bag and gear, push a button and it folds down on its own so this would be a great bag for older players looking to spare their bodies the burden of bending down and wrestling with clasps and locks.

The Bag Boy Nitron features a tri-wheel design and includes a full scorecard panel. There are also pockets for your phone, wallet and other small items as well as an umbrella holder. Without any bags or accessories, the Bag Boy Nitron weighs just a hair over 16 pounds.

The wheels are made of a hard molded plastic so you don’t ever have to worry about them going flat. There is also a handle-mounted parking brake which locks the cart stably and securely when you arrive at your hole or other destination.

The Bag Boy Triswivel

Selling Points

The second push cart on our list is also from Bag Boy which is quickly emerging as one of the most innovative and reliable manufacturers of golf push carts. If easy navigation is your priority this is the push cart for you.

Key Features

Again, as the name hints at, the Bag Boy Triswivel push cart features a fully swiveling front wheel. This makes this particular cart very easy to push around. It’s exceptionally nimble because you can turn this tri-wheel cart in any direction unlike fixed front wheel carts.

Just like the last Bag Boy entry on our list, the Triswivel also features their patented Top-Lok technology which makes it suitable for all kinds of golf bags. The front swiveling wheel is 9.5 inches in diameter while the rear wheels are 11 inches in diameter.

This is a solid size for the wheels and it adds to the easy maneuverability of the Triswivel. The whole cart weighs just 16 pounds when unencumbered by bags and accessories. The Triswivel folds down and up at three points on the cart.

So even though you don’t get the one-button convenience of the Nitron, this is still a relatively simple cart to open and close. All three tires are 2 and a half inches thick too so they are good on pretty much any turf or terrain.

The Clicgear Model 4.0

 Selling Points

This was the most stable bag of the three. It features a more pronounced “leaned back” design which is great for keeping the weight of heavy bags properly leveraged. The stability is enhanced with 2 adjustable silicone straps at the top and the bottom of this Clicgear push cart.

Key Features

There is an aluminum saddle that sits just below the bottom strap to prevent your bag from rubbing against the front wheel and possibly wearing away at the bag material. The Clicgear Model 4.0 comes equipped with a mesh storage pouch located underneath the handle.

There are umbrella and drink holders and there are additional accessory slots for adding more Clicgear amenities in the future if you want. This is a great cart to have if your bag is typically pretty heavy. The hand brake locks the cart in place sturdily when it isn’t moving.

And the leaned back design makes getting your clubs out of your bag very easy. There are 3 hand locks that hold the frame together when collapsed. Unfolding the Clicgear Model 4.0 is pretty easy and entails just 3 or 4 moves.

The cart weighs about 21 pounds which makes it the heaviest one on our list but that is due to the more durable aluminum frame design.

Value Comparison

If you are looking for a push cart that will last you a long time, then the Clicgear Model 4.0 is certainly the better value. But keep in mind that the upfront cost will be higher than the other two carts on our list.

But again, you can expect to get more seasons out of the Clicgear Model 4.0.

Performance Comparison

As far as function on the course goes, we favored the Bag Boy Triswivel. It was very light and very easy to maneuver no matter what type of terrain we were on. We do wish it was made of more durable material, but the plastic design helps keep the weight down at least.

Price Comparison

The Bag Boy Nitron will run you about $280 while the Triswivel typically hovers around $300. The Clicgear 4.0 can usually be found over $300.

Final Say

So which is the best push cart? If you want a cart that is lightweight and if your bags aren’t typically heavy we recommend the Bag Boy Triswivel. It’s the lightest and easiest to push of any of the carts on our list.
