Adam Hadwin: Early Life And Parents

On the 2^nd of November, 1987 Adam Hadwin was born to Gerry and Brenda Hadwin in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada.

It wasn’t even a decade before when his father, Gerry had been selected to join the Canadian Tour in 1979. So, it is fair to say that his parents have been more than supporting when it came to backing their son throughout his golfing career.

As a teen, Hadwin went to The University of Louisville on a golf scholarship as he was already such an avid player. He went on to study business and won the All-American Honourable mention in 2009.

In Hadwin’s amateur days, Brenda said she struggled to watch her son play without have the nerves almost eat her up.

Whereas, Hadwin’s father, a golf director at Ledgeview Golf Club in Abbottsford glued his eyes to his son whenever he was playing – observing every move and every strategy that came from a play. But nonetheless, they are both equally proud of their son and all he has achieved thus far.

It was after college that Hadwin went professional. Later that same year he won all four VGT events as well as Ledgeview Open on the Vancouver Golf Tournament.

In 2017, Adam Hadwin married his beautiful wife, Jessica Dawn Kippenberger. She currently is a doctor and a nurse.

Although their relationship has not always been the easiest, they continue to stay true to their testimony of “through thick and thin”. After struggling to fall pregnant naturally, they conceived their first child, Maddox through in vitro fertilization in 2020.

It was because of the struggle they faced as a couple and the immense fees that came along with it, the two started the Hadwin Family Foundation which aims to help families who are going through the same or similar challenges.

Adam began playing golf from an early age and from then there was no doubt he was talented. After playing for the high school team he went on to receive a golf scholarship at the University of Louisville.

Hadwin made his debut at the Web.com Tournament in 2009, the year he went professional. Unfortunately he did not win but he did go on to win all four VGT events and the Ledgeview Open in Vancouver in 2010.

It was in 2014 where he went on to win his first Web.com tour at the Chile Classic – a spectacular scene for those who witnessed and definitely a memorable moment for the sportsman.

Although Hadwin received his first PGA Tour card in 2014/2015 but only won his very first sole PGA tour in the year 2017 at the Valspar Championship.

Adam went on to play at the Presidents Cup (twice!) in Australia. His U.S Team won and it appeared to be celebrations all round in 2019!
